Just note that although these 4000 series mobile cpus are the same manufacturing as the Ryzen 3000 desktop cpus they will be pci-e gen.3 compliant not gen4. AMD believes mobile doesn't need pci-e 4. Personally i think that if they found a way to stick it in there they would hehe. That chipset just runs too hot atm for mobile enclosures. If they can shrink it to 7nm as their cpus then they would be able to have it run passively in desktop mobos and finally include it in mobile platforms. No matter the pci-e generation though, these cpus offer great performance with very little power consumption. We 'll just have to wait and see i guess...
    Cheers :)

This is sort of wrong. Surely laptops have gone a long way in terms of features and performance since my first Powerbook but they lack in performance (and price) vs a much cheaper desktop. Sp what to do?
There are very cool mini-itx cases with proper desktop mobos and cpus, just in a smaller portable package. Like this example:
    https://www.caseking.de/en/lian-li-tu150a-mini-tower-silver-geli-826.html

Pair that case with something like a ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming-ITX/TB3 and a Ryzen 3000 series cpu and you got yourself a small powerhouse with built in Thunderbolt 3 out of the box. You'd be hard pressed to find the same performance on a laptop, mini-itx might be small but they are 100% desktop pcs. So yeah, you might not be able to take such a machine on a mountain expedition or on the beach etc but you certainly can go play live with it, record live or just work from studio to studio with it if you work with lots of various peeps. It surely doesn't replace a laptop in terms of portability but it is a much more pwerful alternative in critical situations where horsepower matter most.
    Cheers
