You don't care about Synth Edit if Genesis sounds good for you!

 

Just a thought...maybe it's just the old synth with just a new gui if it is still at 32. Why would he not just make it 64 bit and be "normal" like virtually anyone else would do.

 

i guess its x64...someone did mistake to take synth edit as x86 only i think..

 

Because that additional bit per square zero costs a lot of real estate he can not afford.

 

He he just sharing his own synthesizer project made with Synthedit (32 bit version) over the past years. Converting it to 64 bit is not a copy and paste operation, it must be done from scratch and visually reconnect all the modules. There is not sound difference between Synthedit 32 bit and 64 bit version, it's more a compatibility issue for 64 bit operating systems, but I still use some 32 bit plug in like Energy-xt or Liveslice inside Reaper and they are ok. It must be seen like a ready to use synthesizer with edm oriented presets made by a well known producer. If you are able to program your instruments, then you don't need this. Also if you watch how his demonstration is done, it's clear that he is talking to young and wannabe producers.

 

It's 32 bit because he started to make the synth 8 years ago,and Synth Edit was 32 bit,from what I've read on other forums.

 

I don't understand your point,you might still want to try this synth,even if you know how to program a synth.

Synth Edit doesn't make bad stuff,10 years ago remember the free Variety Of Sound plugins,they didn't sound worse than some plugins programmed in C++.

Yeah. You can make x64 VST in updated version of SynthEdit and probably export project and convert from x86 to x64 in SynthEdit, but he started build this vst in old x86 version of SynthEdit and used 3rd-party extensions (modules) which no longer development and never updated to the new x64 SynthEdit version. That's why only 32-bit vst I think.

 

Fair point. This would plunge the sales though because only 32bit, practically means Windows only because Catalina is x64 only etc etc. Makes some sense in terms of the pricing on the other hand. March is soon upon us. We 'll just wait and see what gives. Cheers
