You probably already know that this is not a good placement for the monitors. should be 60 degree angle with the same distance to your ears and between the speakers.
also, the height should be where you can see the top of your speakers and have your ears at the same height or just below the tweeters.
Of course you might now your setup very well and can take mixing decisions based on that instead of what you hear. :)

What the industry really needs is an "Ultrahigh" monitor.

Of course you won't. And of course you'll say that. Who the hell would say "I made a big mistake" after that PR campaign in the other thread. Sorry, but you're out as an objective tester. Three explanation marks are a proof :winker:

I really was about to order one of those big screens, but at the end I decided not to go that way.

    1. The screen resolution is just not good enough ATM. I saw several now and it was not satisfying.
    2. If the screen is broken, all my screens are broken at the same time.
    3. Two+ monitors instead of one is more flexible. E.g. I have a setup consisting on one 24'' lying in a low angle on the table and two 24'' standing behind it. I can change it whenever I want to.
    4. It's easier to handle windows on different screens than on one big one. There are utilities but none worked satisfactory for me.
    5. I don't use my machine for DAW only. Not a gamer here. The parallax of curved screens is disadvantageous for some scenarios
    6. Price. They are too expensive in comparison.

Possibly I'll make up my mind when prices drop and resolution rises to at least to 2x 4K and I use a system as DAW only

Just use several pivoting screens ;)

Or do we need to place us inside one really big screen built like a ball us sitting inside it (and entering it from beneath)?

The problem there is it then becomes too high. I've experimented a bit and can't find a happy medium. I'd love to have about a 3rd added onto the height of my monitor. That would be perfect.

I did have an ultrawide set right on my desk and tilted pretty far back to use for a mix window and then had a regular monitor above it, but it ended up taking up too much room.

duuuude are you comparing sonic speed to light speed

    to op

first you should think about what you want the most!
less moving of windows, synths plugins height wise
or do you like, for instance, always having a "mixer" with all channels visible

or do you want both ;)

    so much .......wow

actual view of desktop 4k 43"
no scaling, looks i.e feels like 2 27 inch 1440p sideways

    nothing better to my eyes
and modern speakers aren't that narrow in horizontal dispersion
that you cant deal with a little less accurate or optimal distance between them

but i do have a rather large table (because i like it)
depth wise distance to your screen might / could be a little short. Depending on your desk
the monitor i have (Korean 43" 400€ model (4 years ago))
is on a stand, 3 fingers high (lowest part of screen)
and a bit more than one arm length away :disco:

    .ps
still click on it to see how much you have to scroll to see about 50-60 channels
dont forget this a low res jpg desk screenshot

Sorry but sound should be your primary concern and this is just ridiculous. You can make it work but do proper placement first.

Well well well...I like when people know better than the others with no doubt ...always liking that type of person!PR by the way, what does it mean???
    So..hum hum...
First of, when I do a mistake, I admit it so if the purchase was a shitty one, I would have warned people regarding my points to avoid them to buy it if they consider the same points as me...that is the main point in a place like AudioSex.Thanks for letting us know that when you do one, you don't admit it for a next review!!!!Good to know!!!!
Again, you know, I don't... I have never say I am a tester: far from that and to be honest, I don't even have Tv so no clue about definition, reason why I 'm not talking about it...just looking for a tool that permits me to work better and it does the job.
As I said, my 2*27 Apple screens weren't after a while convenient...FOR ME!
Not a gamer, just a little producer and I use it JUST for ABLETON LIVE.
If the screen is broken...well, on that point, I don't know what to answer ...it never happens to me and I cross my finger that it won't!!!
You have 2 screens ...if it fits your needs, that's great! I got enough room for a nice backup with mine and it is really nice for hours of music I tell you.(that is tested!!!). The nice thing on that beast is the fact you can easily up and down moved it but my studio at home is static: positioned once and it doesn't move anymore. Again, that is my situation, which apparently is not yours...broken screen, moving..man, what are you doing!!!:winker:
And for the last point, the price, I can easily understand that point...but again for you; for me, this is not a problem and I found an excellent deal...I would have definitely bought anyway even at a full price.
So, you are right on a few points but not all of them are my concern. As I said, this screen has been an excellent investment for me, I do not regret one second.
I respect your different point of views, but honestly, reading you before my choice of buying or not: I would have bought it but not saying you are a bad seller/tester: just saying your points are not mine.
