Seriously, I don't know what you mean, in the way that I don't understand the sense of this 'argument'.

The higher the horse, the better the overview. But I can descend, if your neck hurts, no prob. :winker:

Your Ian Shepard quote is a bit difficult to read here, but in case you agree with 'WaveLab = correct' great, because WL comes, not surprisingly, to the same result as I did! The Levelmeter as well as the Global Analysis show both -21dB RMS for a sine wave with -18dB peak, like my Reaper does.
But I'm not sure if I got you right.

Nope, just friendly teasing, I'm not here to fight.

Good question. Maybe if your digital meter is too fast for your eyes?

No, seriously, it can be easier to monitor/see the RMS level - in case you need this for some reason. :winker:

    FIXED NOW

-2020 Loudness Powder Rack need LIMITER adjustments to match ANY -db RMS (LUFS) which your song needs.

Configure Fruit Limiter or add other Limiter plugin which you like

lower 1-7-db RMS (LUFS) to better results
and check the dBFS Level in RescuemkII

-ALL THE RACKS are 100% perfect to forever usage.

My racks are pretty good to do 2020 Loudness like Hardwell or 017 like FTAMPA or beautiful Dynamic Range - 3 types of Racks

    check on az

These are the moments where I love Steinbergs Float Point Unit Engine.
Back at the output is the first and only moment I think about levels.
Just to get the idea why this thread exists:
Is there any plugin that does not have a threshold slider or an in/out knob?
Nebula is tricky levelwise... so I tweak the in-slider and compensate with the out slider... and compressors have threshold knobs... but this behavior has been in audio since the like ever, why now wonder whether saturation plugins sound different or not if driven hotter? Of course they do.
