I "try" to detach myself from my Swiss knife: Diva, that being objective the commercial presets are of an enormous quality since not any wimp enters the game.

On the other side, in Electra and especially the last times in AZ I have seen a number of presets and banks, which starting with the sounds of demos and artworks do not encourage me.

    • I like RnB, Trapsoul and Neoperreo.

    Please Good recommendations.

I think Nexus 3 is not able to run 3rd Person made Presets anymore

And I am currently focused on even understanding the current Synths x). I am a big fan of presets, very dissapointing that they took out the 3rd Person Presets in Nexus 3 but I could upadte for 50€ and thought why not.

    Electra is the thread ...

It happens that trying Electra gives me the impression that it can be a "modern Diva", especially for Trap, Latin, Rnb and Reggeaton. I also love Nexus, even Rosalia uses it ..... But it's very repetitive / romplertitive :bleh:...... and run the risk of "sounding like".

I will have to download and discard...... The wonderful philosophy of the compulsive leecher!!!!!! :bleh:

I try this synth two or three times ... and the first impression is big sound but very quickly I realize this is not .... the sound of this synth and in general tone2 bundle are too much synthetic robotic cold for my taste ... too large in frequency also so if you want this to sit in the mix it's not easy so delete ... happyness is not here for me... perhaps if you make trap sound it's good for you ....

With all these amateurs shitting out their trap banks to make a quick buck it's becoming harder and harder to discern what's shovelware and what's a well thought-out sound bank by an experienced sound designer. Serum has the same problem with EDM presets. In fact there's so much EDM crap for Serum that I have no idea what sound banks are actually useful and I can't be bothered to go through them all.

When you call Diva your Swiss knife, I hope it's right to guess you've been using it long enough to see the beauty in being able to delete any presets you draw no immediate inspiration from. Same goes for Electra and all U-he synths. Then we get to all the VSTi synths from other companies with loads of preset packs available. You can delete individual presets from the majority of those synths as well. And that's the "first" thing I do with any synth or additional presets I install. I refine the list of presets to only contain the ones I can fathom using in something. I do this before I start using a newly installed synth, or a newly installed preset pack in projects.

With .wav sample packs it's the same principle. There are thousands of them. You grab one drum pack and it might contain 100 loops and 500 one shots. It's better to waist the time browsing through these 600 samples "once" before using anything within the folder in a project. So I might end up keeping 8 loops and 60 one shots from that pack for example. It saves a tremendous amount of time and storage space when doing so with samples and presets. It speeds up your creative process when everything in your folders/libraries was handpicked according to what your ears like. Those who think it's a waist of time to make step1 refining their sample and preset folders discover it can never be done as a last step. They discover they have over a million of samples and presets eventually, with limited storage space, no time to browse efficiently within a range that large, and the total fear of deleting a single file because they are uncertain which ones possibly exist in some past project.
