Those Sennheiser are very good. They are almost flat. The Beyerdynamics have to much high end. As other have pointed out, you need a good headphones output for a 600 ohms device to shine.

When the final CD mastering (not production but just before it's sent to be made into a cd or record) is done they pull back on the EQ to make it red book standard? (I don't know much about this, please enlighten us if you know). The end listener will have their bass on high as well you see. Can you imagine your mix being high on bass (lovely trip) and then the listener having their bass high as well on top of that? It's not going to sound good. Plus, don't forget to listen to your productions on all sorts of speakers and headphones, from your iPhone earphones to large speakers, small speakers. Test the sound on everything. Even DJ mixes end up on the radio, iTunes and listened to on phones earplugs, or pc speakers.

The OP had a pair but threw them in the trash after a few uses as they didn't fit his head just like the silk covered pillowcase covering his downy pillows. I guess they were blung blung.

You guys think I'm joking? I'll take pics of all my headphones right this second.. I honestly like to produce on headphones while in the creative stage and writing stage because I don't want to get blasted by my studio system for hours. Then I Can do a final mix on my monitors. I have 2 studio setups. 1 has a Focusrite 6i4 I believe with JBL 305 and presonus temblor and the other has Apollo Twin Duo with Adam Monitors and presonus temblor. I just really like producing with headphones on for comfort and I'm more of a DJ than a song writer so headphones are more comfortable to me. I like my Bluetooth wireless headphones for producing but I can't plug them into a sound card which sucks because you can't record or do live streams of production unless you have a sound card or else you get weird audio cut outs live session because of the blue tooth. Happy?

The sentence "... very good ... bluetooth headphones" is an Oxymoron.
And "...wireless bluetooth..." is like a cableless WiFi. A NullString :winker:

That is because Bluetooth has a thing called latency. It's a consumer grade thing, where low-latency audio isn't needed/wanted. Bluetooth is not used in a professional (or even semi-professional) studio.

Unsure why you have a problem with the Sennheisers. Send 'em off to Sonarworks and get a profile made for them. I understand you want colour in your cans in the creative stages of production but are you not setting yourself up for a fall when it comes to the mix down?

I mean, if its just about a bit of extra woomph to enhance the creative juices shove in a post master-fader eq with a big'ol scoop in your signal chain just don't forget to disable it when mixing down (though I really don't recommend this, you want to have audio integrity/honesty from start to finish in my meager estimations).

As others have said, it may be a driving problem, though I drive a pair of HD 650s off a Foucusrite Scarlett and it seems sufficient (though I do wonder what benefits a headphone amp might provide ).

    When someone says
Y'all should know he's trolling alright.
OP, if you like better your (unnamed) bluetooth headphones than the Senheisser 660S then you need an ear check. What a waste of nice headphones...
For what it's worth, The Pirate gave you the most fit answer just when i was about to write the same lol.
