    Hey guys,

    How are you?

Well, I've composed a whole complex drum track using Ezdrummer 2. Later on, I decided to bring the midi track to Addictive Drums 2 just to find out that both programs use different midi mapping.

Addictive Drums has a few different mapping presets, but not a single one that fits Ezdrummer's mapping.

So, do you guys have any idea where I can find the midi mapping for Ezdrummer and how can I load it into Addictive Drums?

This is one of those things that should be fairly easy, but I couldn't find a solution for it anywhere.

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Raf.

Never understood the problem with this. Highlight all the midi notes for the kick drum in your midi track. (In Digital Performer, for example, you can double click on the mini keyboard on the edge of the screen to select ALL midi notes for a given note on the scale) Drag them all to note that the other sampler uses for the kick drum. Repeat for all the other drums. It might take you 10 minutes, even if you have to constantly look at the mapping diagram to find the right notes. Either way, you'd be done by now! :dunno:

Please don't think I'm being coarse- I just think you'll be happier knowing how to move your midi notes around on your own (if you don't already)...

Something else you can try is simply making your own MIDI map in Addictive Drums 2. EZ Drummer's packs come with a PDF file with a MIDI map that shows you how they are laid on a keyboard. For example the Metal Machine MIDI map file looks like this:

Make one exactly the same in AD2, by going to the question (?) mark on the right and selecting "Map Window".

Call it, for example, EZD2-Metal Machine; and save it. Voila! You can use that preset whenever you need it.

As halcyo said, you can also just simply move your MIDI notes around.

    Good luck.

The truth is that devs don't even respect basic General Midi Standard, then we, the clients have to loose time to solve this.
It's true that the complexity of some kits go beyond >GM, but at least, they could respect basic placements like Bd, HH, SD.

Cubase, for example, lets you edit/save different drum maps (within cubase). No need to drag midi around.
I don't know about the DAW you are using though.

There is readymade drum maps for some DAW:s just Google ( i know of drum maps for Sonar Cubase Samplitude Reaper Acid) for different kinds of drum vsti:s like Battery Ez-Drummer Addictive Drums BFD Superior Drummer ands some others
Import those maps to your Daw if you have one of those maybe there is drum maps for S1 and Live aswell?
Choose AD as drummap for the imported Ez midifiles and of you go

I've just solved this problem after 5 years!

Use EZplayer Pro, and it's easy to mix n match all your midi drum beats

Put EZdrummer on track 1, EZplayer Pro on track 2, and Addictive Drums on track 3. Audition your midi drum loops in the native app, and then drag them back and forth via EZplayer Pro. It's a quick and easy operation, and it works for all kinds of drum software

You don't have to use 3 tracks, I just found it easier to do it that way if you want to build arrangements from multiple sources. For example, I use EZdrummer fills with Addictive Drums verse and chorus loops, etc..

    :drummer:

There are some tutorial videos on YouTube, but I just use the drag and drop method.

Once you drag a midi drum loop into EZplayer Pro, you just need to choose the right kind of wrapper for where you want to use it, and then drag it into that track. There are a lot of wrapper types to choose from, so its very flexible. You can even convert GM files, or the midi output from electronic drums.

Just out of curiosity, why not adjusting the keymap in ADD?

It's the drum midi file that needs converting to a different format, as every software company uses different mappings. EZplayer Pro is quick and it only takes a few seconds to drag and drop. I'm still learning about it, but so far it's working good.
