What bothers me most is those crappy trap/hip-hop Omnisphere soundbanks and cheap ROMpler VSTs. I scroll past it but I can't help but wonder who even wants this for free.

 

If you don't check in in months you're gonna have to wade through some stuff for sure. But who gets to decide what's a "good" release and what's not? You'll just have the same complaining that either something someone didn't like was flagged as good, or more likely something someone would have wanted got missed because it wasn't flagged as good. It's just going to be a different version of the same situation. No matter how you sort the only way to make sure something you might want doesn't fall through the cracks (HA! no pun intended) is to look at all of it.

 

In fact- the best way (probably) to get a sense of the most desirable downloads is already sitting right at the top of the page: the weekly top downloads. Maybe just make that expandable to 20 or 30, or whatever.

Now it's not enough that cracked software is distributed easily on sister site for free. No, it's expected to be presorted bite-sized.

Next we must probably expect that the ladies and gentlemen will demand that the software is installed directly on their machine, cracked and extensively tested before they graciously concede a "like."

 

The inevitable spirit of sister site is that you must check it frequently, otherwise you lose the majority of hot stuff that are usually taken down quickly.
This generates the excitement when you load the page. To see whether soneone finally cracked ... software in a way it runs smoother than the legit version. Or to see if the drama queen came back through the key hole to make more business.
It has so much fun factor.

So everything with a price tag is high-quality stuff? Do you enjoy every early access game on steam? This problem doesn't only concern torrent sites for example, its a concern almost everywhere, free or with a price tag on. The amount of absolutely extreme garbage is drowning mankind, food, candy, drugs, objects, movies, music, games.
Animals are going extinct because of the amount of useless garbage being produced.

There used to be a few hard-working human beings carrying water into a hole which lead to a pipe and provided fresh clean water with the most pure taste, they got paid for their work and clean water kept coming.
After a few years more people started carrying water and the first ones got paid less because the others needed payment and the water quantity increased so demand decreased.
A few more years passed by and even more people starting working, some didn't even care about the quality and wanted as much money as possible by as little work as possible so they took water from places closer to the hole.
The water got muddy and didn't taste as good but it happened so slow that the people woke up one day 50 years later asking their closest,

-Wasn't EVERYTHING better back in the day?

Dude, i wasn't really having a dig at you personally, i was playfully lampooning the fact that we all have to negotiate all manner of irritating compromises every day of our lives... so really - why should it be somehow different on the sister site? As mentioned numerous times above, it's been like this for years now and losing a few seconds of your time skipping through the 'meh' releases is indeed annoying but hardly life threatening - and certainly not worthy of getting too hot under the collar about it!

 

Oh I would LOVE the garbage to go. Because it is, no argument there.

 

If you really want to be heard, I recommend getting in the Grievance Line at one of your local Complaint Centers; be warned though, the line will undoubtedly contain homeless people complaining about Soup kitchens that refuse to serve roasted lobster with artichoke soup and black truffle. I tried - very awkwardly, I must admit - to transcend my nervousness into humor. However, I forgot one essential detail: despite the fact that we all try to understand each other through English - which often is not our mother tongue -, our culture, our past, our values, our humor and all other bricks which we are made of are not interchangeable. If we need any reminder of this, we only have to look at two buddies who have so much in common, like Donald Trump and Ali Khamenei: they can't stop bickering for such small opinion divergences about those inconsequential nuclear and middle-east influence issues.
