After being blown away by the Korg 2600, the Korg Wavestate, the Sequential Pro-3 as well as the twin Behringer Modular Clones of the Roland System 100 and the Moog series 55 I've decided.
I wanted the Behringer Pro-One because I owned the original in the early eighties.
But then I saw Dave Smith demoing the Sequential Pro-3 and it is not only one of the most incredible synth/sequencers I ever seen, but its also an incredible performance instrument.
Sure, the Pro-3 costs 5 times as much as the Pro-One but its a keeper for life.
The Behringer Modular System 55 blew my mind. I was not expecting this.
Played a modular Moog at the University Of Calgary in 1969 when I was 13.
In 1976 I bought a Minimoog cause the modular was way out of reach.
Saw Emerson, Lake & Palmer in Montreal 1973 playing Brain Salad Surgery in quad: 72 tons of speakers.
I'll be buying multiples of the full selection at less than a 10th of the original price.
The Korg Wavestate is cheap enough to throw on top.
I'm retiring in little over a year with enough income that I can make music as weird as I like without worrying about commercial failure.
Cannabis is legal in Canada and I hope to do live concerts in front of pot shops and maybe even get my own line of signature cannabis strains.
