    How to make release fx like this in Ableton or in vst with or without bitcrushing like in the attachment and similar in this vids but most important for me is releasing effect from attachment?

    FX at 1:34, 1:41 in the attachment

    Sounds like maybe a band-pass filter sweep automated to me.

    edit, I just noticed the "release" part and realized I'm wondering the same thing now.

    Buffer repeat/repeater (dry/wet modulation). I'm sure there are quite a lot of M4L things that can do this.
    Edit: The attached file has an amplutude envelope (volume fade out). But the effect is the same. It's also known as looper, re-trigger and buffer freeze.

    Here's a quick google search for a plugin:

    That's a very short sample loop caught in realtime. In your attachment the level decreases.

    Do you know the Pioneer RMX-1000 vst plugin?
    I think it may achieve this effect.

    I'm guessing the modulated fx and the on/off action are controlled by a multi midi feature on a controller like ROLI, ..or the Kaos Pad. I googled vst's like Kaos Pad but all I got was this;

    Hmm.. this looks like proprietary hardware is involved with the vst? Would be nice if a solution didn't involve ROLI or R2R money..

    In Ableton I know you can trigger clips aka a single sample's on/off length but not like this witchcraft

    Is this related to the MIDI 2.0 thread?
