    Those are not VSTis, but libraries (for the VSTi NI Kontakt). But I guess you already know that.

    Assuming you mean four plugins to plug in to an existing DAW that we'd also be able to keep along with all of its own fx, because
    plugins aren't much use without something to plug them into,
    Sand, Coral, Taupe and Lift, all from Acustica.

    I tried some Kushs and interestingly they all crashed every few minutes.

    Congrats to the OP, this thread can figure in the short list of the very useful ones.
    (Now I'm not so sure anymore...)

    In order to make it even more useful - if not essential - it would be interesting to know what kind of music your mentioned plugins are dedicated to.

    Speaking of libraries, we see that Kontakt is often mentioned. But to consider Kontakt as one single instrument, that's cheating! It would be more logical (and honest) to specify which libraries seem essential to you and, above all, limit yourself to say 4 or 5 libraries maximum. What do you think?

    EDIT:
    To summarize, I think a list like that would be really great:
    - 4 Plugins
    - 4 Instruments (without Kontakt)
    - 4 Libraries (Kontakt is included with each library)
    - For what kind of music do you use each one of these tools (or all of them) ?

    Hell yes it's cheating! I don't know if I can really pick 4 Kontakt libraries I'd limit myself to but I can pick 4 or 5 I seem to use the most often... I get a lot of mileage from LASS, NI Acoustic Strummed Guitar, Noire and... everything Hollow Sun ever made, dammit.
