so i'm on mac and i downloaded a cracked version of antares auto tune, it worked perfectly fine and there were no problems running it. however, when i then tried to open xpand2 (one of two plugins i've ever paid for) my computer gave me this error:

"license error-xpand!2

the software required to validate the license for this product is not running. please reinstall the product or download and run the ilok license manager installer here:

-ilok link-"

i tried reinstalling multiple times but my xpand still doesn't work. should i dare to do what it says and download ilok? would doing this mean all the plugins i've pirated would stop working?

i'd much appreciate any help with this issue

 

I have iLok installed and also alot of pirated software and I have not had any problems! I am a PC user though so I am not sure how it is on Mac.

 

That's a bit strange because on their homepage https://www.airmusictech.com/product/xpand2#system_requirements they say 'iLok is not required for use'.
But that's probably the reason why they wrote 'or download...'

 

Redownload ilok license manager, install it and all will be fine, i think the dylib we replace affects the ilok software so you have to reinstall for xpand!2 to detect licenses again, hope that helps

oh wow that is strange :o it only started giving me the error once i downloaded the antares crack, xpand had continued to work for a long while beforehand existing with many cracked plugins so i am very confused!

 

hey can I get that link to the plug in I can't seem to find a working autotune plug in for Mac Antares anyways

do you know what is iLok (USB Smart Key)? what is iLok License Manager? what is machine-based authorization?
"iLok is not required for use" - this means that a USB device is not required (which is sold separately in any case).

 

bought the air instruments while ago, they are using their own auth app however still needs iLok and perhaps your K'ed plugin ruined the ilok lib file ..

 

no. they using iLok's standart authorization with just replaced images in window. many developers doing same.

I had a similar issue with Vacuum Pro, which I bought. For some reason, one day I got the same message. I reinstalled the iLok manager to get it working again. However, I decided to install the Vacuum Pro release from the sister site so I wouldn't have to deal with the inconvenience again.
