Not seeing the images you uploaded...
But all I know (I think!) is that the 3.3v and the 5v versions are slightly different so you can only plug them in a slot with supported voltage.
Not sure if 2.0 or 2.1 matters, as you say.

PCI 2.0 and 2.1 are compatible and should fit in the same slot. PCI is backwards compatible.

I figured it out my motherboard -doesnt- have PCI, only PCIe. Is there an adapter I can buy or will i have to buy/ or make a new pc?

As long as they are the correct voltage.
So, as long as op is 100% sure he has a PCIe, not just the wrong voltage one, then all good.

PCI adapters can work but tend to have horrible latency spikes and other issue
the last board with native PCI slot (not a bridge chip), was the X79 produced in 2011
once this computer dies for good, my PCI days will be over ;(

I used to use an E-MU 1212m PCI in my old PC build. All the time I had it my machine had to stay running Windows XP as the PCI drivers do not support higher OS (only the PCIe does). Since I updated all the components to a newer system last year (including OS) I was forced to replace the Emu with a low latency USB interface instead. I still have the old twin card boxed away but I can't really use it any more, either. It was great while it lasted - always a good, trusty little card, perfect for triggering VSTi's in realtime, etc.

You can get adaptors both ways, for PCI-to-PCIe and vice versa, but I'm not sure I would trust it for something that was of such importance, as it could potentially lead to more problems or audio glitches? Look for any technical reviews you can find on PCIe-to-PCI adaptors and see what others have to say.

Alternatively, can you send the PCI card back for a refund, or exchange it for the PCIe version instead?

for almost a year now (February 2019) i have been running my RME HDSP9632 PCI on a gigabyte z390 mobo pci express using this adapter by Startech PEX1PCI1 https://www.startech.com/eu/Cards-Adapters/Slot-Extension/PCI-Express-to-PCI-Adapter-Card~PEX1PCI1

i was unable to use it with an extension cable but luckily i only use the right soundcard extension slot (analogue breakout cable) and it fit perfectly in a Fractal Design R5 case without any empty spots , however search through some forums i remember while researching this pex1pci1 i saw in some forums that it doesnt work with certain soundcards (eg Delta) but i am not sure. It has been working fine for me till now , using windows 10 btw

ughh thank you all for your help I really appreciate it. I really do.

Time to do some research. Does anyone have a cheap build they can recommend me that would have pci slots?

I am a noob when it comes to computers.

A descriptive title and a bit more of explanation would have brought much more answers.
A little effort can move you quiet far generally...

@Olymoon There was a full title and quite an in depth first post. Don't know why it was deleted. But that's what we were all answering to!
My second post, which relates to something my network filter was telling me when I clicked on the links, maybe has something to do with it??

It's gonna be hard to find a motherboard that is current. I used this on my build as it has 2 PCI slots and I was using a MOTU PCI-424 successfully running Windows 7:

    https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRIME-Z270-K/

I would assume you could run Windows 10 successfully as well as long as your hardware drivers support 10.
