For a while now there seems to be an unending stream of "free" items.
It's becoming an annoyance. Is there any way to make a specific section just for these?
It's almost as if someone is shilling for 'infected sounds'... I don't see why this stuff is posted. what is gained from it?

 

Do you mean on sister site ?
Download through OCH like Uploaded.to/uploaded.net gives money .... maybe because of that ?

 

If you’re referring to sister site, I find them helpful. A lot of these free plugs/samples want your details, spam you endlessly. (Even the latest Cymatics wants your damn phone number) DL them on sister site avoids all this.

 

Why is it an 'annoyance'? Everything you get from the sister site is free, you are in no position to complain. Just because they are freeware it doesn't mean it isn't good. I got T-Forces alpha synth for free from a freeware site. It's my go to synth for creating square wave sounds...Don't judge a book by it's price

 

Many members, including me, discovered good free software thanks to the freeware posted.

Free is clearly indicated in these posts titles, so if you're not interested, it's easy to pass your way.

 

There's a big flood of free plugins nowadays, so it's a real problem to find and pick one that is really worth the trouble. Most of them are just simple, novice, amateur or beginners' stuff. And some are really terrible. So making a choice takes a lot of patience, and is time consuming.
On the bright side, there is no hype, marketing, or any other placebo about them, so you can fully trust your ears and your common sense. Also you need to thoroughly test them. And If they disappoint you, you won't hold the grudge against the money wasted.
I respect the people who make them, and personally I use half a dozen of them, which are either unique, or of true professional quality.
It is good they are grouped in the right column on the sistersite, so you can pass them by easily, but I do not recommend it.
