I am in the market for a new 49 key controller. Which one seems to have the best keyboard action/feel? I would prefer a hammer action, but I know that that is unlikely. What have been your experience with this.? I currently use an Alesis V49. I also have a Behringer ucontrol 49 and an Alesis Vortex both of which I gave to my two boys who have an interest in music production as well. The problem with the V49 is that it will drop notes intermittently. I had hoped to find a software patch for this annoying problem but to no joy as yet. The other ones didn't have a good feel either. So I am looking for something else. Would like to keep to 49 keys because of my setup. A 61-key just would be too large. I compose and record what can be considered soundtrack/ New Age kind of music with a little jazz and rock from time to time. Thanks in advance for the advice!

I had the MPK 88 which was awesome however it is a furniture the thing! So big...the feeling was great, not a player though but I really like it...I didn't find the same in a smaller size...came to buy the KOMPLETE KONTROL 61, not bad I would say but nothing compares to the MPK...
Don't know if it could suit you but the ROLLIS seems also great apparently, it exists in 49 keys ...

Nothing will feel premium and cool, I think. Even going to 61 won't do it. There exist 76 keys studiologic and several options at 88 keys. These are clearly made for real keyboards players and the prices are not cheap. Most midi keyboards pack many features like pads, knobs/faders, software control, but the keys feel cheap and plastic. Only the expensive stuff feels nice.
