i don't fully understand what it does......why is it called "peak controller"

As in the peak of a waveform? does it lower the peaks as in compression? or does it just lower the volume

it a is used to recognize peaks and apply them as a modulator on another knob or fader in any plugin you'd like,

for instance, you could insert this on your kick, (make sure to unmute it). then right-click the fader on a bass channel for instance.
end select link to the controller, select peak control in internal input controller and click accept.

    Edit:
Maybe it's important to note that the left (orange) and the right( green) are actually 2 different modules (left is peak detection for ducking an the right is a "standard" lfo)

You can use it for sidechain and it is dynamic in nature as it ducks the bass when kick hits. So unlike Kickstart or LFOTool, which is useful only when the kick hits periodically like in a house beat (4 on the floor). If you are making say future bass the kick will hit irregularly and unless you use either FL Limiter or Peak controller method you won't be able to achieve that ducking

It just gives a reference waveform for automation. It does nothing by itself, but the resulting waveform can be used to automate controls of another VST
