There are tons of softwares to get you get inspired: Melody Sauce, Scaler, EZKeys, to name but a few.
But a good source of inspiration always comes from listening to lots of music from all genres.
And as consistently mentioned, a fundamental understanding of music theory is the very basic foundation of good music composition.

Weird to see that no one mentioned Cognitone yet... Synfire Pro is definitely a beast (you'll have to read the manual and watch tutorials to get an idea of what it can do), but you can have a look at Harmony Navigator or Synfire Express, too. All of them are 20% off by the end of the year. Trial versions are available.

I agree, but personally I only use these apps to map out chords and scales, and then I play everything live on other instruments, or sometimes I program a sequencer. I guess I use these tools like an artist uses one of these ..

:) Lucky you, you're more talented than I am. I only play keyboard, and not that good. Others do the playing if I need real instruments !

I usually break each part down into smaller pieces when recording, but I do like to be in full control of what is going on, especially with the chord tones & non-chord tones, as that is where the magic happens IMO :)

start of a song constraint to a certain key, before you made up what you are making.
Certain vst's and daws can do it natively.

i'll go to use it but just to find good chords suggestion, then anybody of my band will play live instruments

do you know if we can buy just 1 and use it on 4 different pc? maybe not at the same time?

This is AWESOME but...to try anything need to be a rich guy hahaha

any software look so usefull but is very hard to say "OK THIS IS PERFECT FOR ME" for this reason im stressing anybody to find at least 1 or 2 to be sure to try and spend money

EZKEYS look very good but i think that to start i need to spend at least 167€ (that is special price now)

Maybe it is a good idea to inform yourself better and invest in hardware because there is a lot of free software around.

  16. I work in Logic and as an exercise I wrote out chords that I would never normally play. Every eight bars just start Gm, Ebminor, A major, Abminor etc for example. I ended up with something I would never, ever compose.
