    Hey friends.

I really need your help with something.

I am having trouble with Reaktor 6 FX. The synth VSTi works and installs fine, as usual. But the FX dll will not be seen by Reaper or any other Daw. It's broken. Unusable.

The size of the FX dll is so small I believe there is something wrong with it because the Reaktor 5 FX dll is over 109 KB (112,432 bytes) and all the Reaktor 6 releases have a FX dll size of only 40 KB.

Clearly it's just an empty file not a correct VST dll.

As a result the Reaktor 6 FX plug-in is unable to be used at all how do you fix this? No DAW can see it. Nothing will load it. So, I can't use any FX in Reaktor 6, I can only use it as a host or VSTi synth instrument. I miss my FX dll :(

Is there any working version of Reaktor 6 that includes a proper FX dll of the correct size?

I've been using Reaktor for over 10 years now and I have never experienced this problem with releases. Many thanks friends.

I've tried re-installing but nothing works. Does anyone know what's going on with the Reaktor 6 FX dll?
    Anyone have it actually working?

i can remember having problems with the FX dlls years ago with cubase 5. the only way for me to fix it was to rescan multiple times.
i dont think this will help you though since it doesnt work in other DAWs.
you could try moving the dll somewhere else and scanning that folder. also, if you are linking to it, try using the direct folder. also make sure all reaktor dlls are in the same place.

Thank you for that response. However, the DLL itself is broken. The size proves it. It's not a *real* VST at all. The FX DLL is compromised. It won't load in any DAW because it's not a Steinberg DLL. Years ago was a different Reaktor. :)

Reaktor 6 as it has been released in the group releases all have broken FX DLLs.
Can someone please check and confirm this? :(

As it stands now, I cannot locate ANY Reaktor 6 release with a working FX DLL, from any group.

I don't have a solution, but just wanted to let you know that the size of the DLL doesn't necessarily mean it's borked. It may be what's called a "stub", a tiny wrapper that basically has only one job - call some other DLL with certain settings, which then makes Reaktor act as FX...

that would explain why i had so many problems in the past. i think some people have had it running with no problems though.
my music computer is in the middle of a big repair right now so i cant confirm if mine is working. i havent really used v6 since i last updated it, so i cant remember if the FX worked, but i have definitely had it working in other versions, sometimes after multiple rescans and maybe installs (cant remember for sure about reinstalling).

there are a few different versions of reaktor on the sister site. which one are you using? it might be worth trying all of them.
i rarely have problems with R2R and they have one there.

    EDIT:
i see you are using the R2R one. try another one see if that helps.
and what DAWs have you tried?

Good point. While this is true, I guess it's more accurate to say than that this specific DLL is not working as a wrapper or as a VST dll correctly. :)

I've tried all that I could find. Not just R2R. The dll size and fingerprint is 100% the same.

I'd love to hear anyone with Reaktor 6 FX VST dll working how they did it and what version they use :) Thank you!

Reaper, patchwork, S1, FL, that's what I've tried.

that would suggest to me that the size is okay. it would be nice to hear from someone who has it working how big their file size is too.

another thing you could try is moving it to another location and scanning that file. its a long shot, but maybe there is something wrong with the path.

other than that try rescan after rescan after rescan. i can remember that working for me... eventually!

Size is 48,6KB (49.748 Bytes) and working fine here (v6.31 R6-R2R)
It uses the Data from the VSTi dll to execute, so the size has no impact on usability.
Maybe try to execute your DAW with admin rights or try something like:
uninstall (make sure the dll gets deleted), rescan plugins so that your DAW notices it's gone, reinstall, rescan

    Good luck

Working here. Win 10 1903 on Asus mobo & Ryzen
File size: 48,6 ko (49.784 octets) (Reaktor version 6.2.2)

    Ok with: Bitwig - S1 - Waveform - Reaper

If I'm not wrong, you have'nt provided the system you're working with (Win ? Mac ? etc)
    It may help

Thank you kindly. I'm on Windows 10. I tried admin rights, Reaper and S1 can't see it. So strange you say you have it working. I wonder what it could be :( I've never had an issue before. Any other ideas? Thanks guys, you're the best.

are there blacklists for the DAWs you have tried?
i know cubase builds a blacklist of failed plugins so it doesnt have to rescan them. you have to delete that file to rescan broken plugins

Yes. I've removed the DLL from the blacklist file in Reaper many times.

Ok, let's try to narrow down the problem.

Is the Reaktor Fx dll in the same place than the Reaktor instrument (same folder) ?

If yes, then try to open the Reaktor Fx in a wrapper, like Savihost or VSThost, or minihost Modular.
If it's working there, then we'll look at your DAW side

    Many wishes and merry Xmas.

(if you do not hear from me a few days, no worry it's usual, it does'nt mean I forgot you)

Thank you I appreciate your help. Yes, the DLL fails is all DAW or applications.
    "Invalid".
    I've done 3 re-installs. Rescans. Blacklist removals. It's just a broken DLL. I swear. :(
Which version of Reaktor 6 are you using? Here are the ones I am using. Can you test with me? I don't think I'm crazy lol :( Thank you kindly.

    1. NI Reaktor.6 - v6.0.0.UNLOCKED
    2. NI Reaktor.6 - v6.3.1.Incl.Patched.and.Keygen-R2R

    (I didn't install the NI Reaktor.6 - v6.2.0 Update Only or NI Reaktor.6 - v6.3.0 Update Only)

If it helps, I am also having the same problem - invalid / 64bit plugin DLL - error, with NI Absynth 5 FX dll too.
It seems that all my NI "FX" dll files are invalid and I can confirm 100% that they are 64bit installs.
I appreciate your help, you all are awesome.

FYI I did all this too, didn't help. Promise.

Difference between reaktor "instrument" (2/16) and reaktor "fx" (16/16) is in IO?
Any "reaktor fx" instrument/ensemble, will work in "reaktor instrument"?

FWIW, legit Reaktor 6 (latest patch level, can't remember offhand) has these sizes:

    Reaktor 6.dll - 54,4 MB (57 117 304 bytes)
    Reaktor 6 FX.dll - 48,6 KB (49 784 bytes)

And I've not had any problems with this ever with any host that I've tried - Reaper, Live or Cakewalk.

Reaktor 5 (also legit) has similar things (though it has more configurations):

    Reaktor 5.dll - 40,2 MB (42 156 168 bytes)
    Reaktor 5 FX.dll - 110 KB (113 288 bytes), also the Reaktor5 16out.dll and Reaktor 5 FX2x8, Surround, FX16x16 variants are this size.

    Also working.

Sorry I can't be of much help here, but if you could run Tracktion's plugin validator, free from here: https://github.com/Tracktion/pluginval/releases/tag/v0.2.3 , and see what it says, maybe that gives a clue what's gone haywire.

*edit:* Oh, and you might want to check Live's PluginScanner log, it's located in %APPDATA%\Ableton\Live 10.1.2\Preferences\PluginScanner.txt

    (adjust for your Ableton version)

You didn't answer the question though; are your Reaktor 6.dll and Reaktor 6 FX.dll in the same folder? The FX dll is working fine here, but fails to be recognized (as you have described) when placed in a different folder.
