those youtube guys are like the stupid show of "Stupidland got talent" comoon people love to see the reaction.. of other humans..

I don't understand this TUBE EQ emulation. Just simple curves with ODD HARMONICS. And what? Almost all saturators can do these odd-only harmonics. By the way, if you even harmonics from odd-harmonic saturator, just use dc offset before (airwindows dcvoltage, for example, which is free) - you will get assymetric distortion because of this offset, then after distortion kill this dc or use HP filter.
I don't always believe this snake oil guy. Not this time. And there are several videos by him i would recommend. But 60-70% he is right. YouTube is not also as an advice source nor your assistant, not always. In many cases it is for hype, endorcements, promotion, business, marketing and so on. Combo of visual and audio media with some fun and few-words-texts influence people's thinking. First, try and listen, then analyse, do many tests, measurements. All smallest problems of all processing may be cumulative, adding more artefacts, multiplication of them again and again etc...

Well its always up to the individual if they want to use it or not, the good thing is that they provide trial versions for testing purposes.

 

Actually, gonna attempt to come to Beatskillz rescue here as their 'Bounce' compressor is excellent - as for their other stuff, I don't know, haven't tried any others, but 'Bounce' has served me well, especially parallel. It fits where an API style compression would. I don't like the lack of parameter indicators so much, but it is a fine compressor for many duties, individual, mix and master alike.

Lemming Bum Oil?

 

Beatskillz targets their products primarily top hip-hop/urban music production. Their products are okay, if you are not really into all the engineering aspects of music production, but as an experienced producer I wouldn't use nor recommend their audio processors like Slamdog or Reelight for example.

With their virtual instruments on the other hand, it's a very different story. These are very interesting and inspiring. I think they should focus on those instead and leave plugibs behind.

In a nutshell:
Beatskillz plug-ins: snake-oilish
Beatskillz instruments: recommendable

 

Agree on Eiosis, lots of resource usage, complicated, slow rendering, crashing and problems with graphics (especially meters not working).
But Slate Digital FG-X by Fabrice Gabriel I consider one of the most sophisticated and delicate transient shaping plugins.

 

So what?

 

The most complicated, obfuscated, creepiest working (takes several minutes of strange behaviour), freakish styled software. Loads more than 300MB after installation, and after rendering adds some cryptic (over 200 MB) folder containing about 200 subfolders with 2.000 files with mostly unknown extensions.
And uninstall does not work.

 

Yes, now I can move in four more beds into my room.
