@Talmi Can you still authorize Acustica plugins off line or is it over?

 

Hey @The Pirate .You can authorize the paid ones offline - not the freebies (thanks for the intel @digitaldragon ), from your user account.
However you need Aquarius to download the products, it's not possible to download them directly from your user account anymore.

Found the offline installation procedure on Acustica site :

IMPORTANT NOTE: this procedure will not work any more since Q4 2019, and products installation using Aquarius with internet connection will be mandatory for all users. (Note from me, I think it's just the installation part, that has to happen in Aquarius, my orders on my account still include the possibility to generate auth from ser)

• Install Aquarius in the spare computer with internet connection.
• Log-in in Aquarius with your e-mail address as user-name and your password.
• Download and install the product in the spare computer with internet connection.
• Delete the authorization file .AUT file in the plug-in destination path, you can see this path it upgrades page in Aquarius.
• Move the plug-in folder and files to the off-line computer.
• Run your audio host (DAW, sequencer or editor) as administrator and load one instance of your product.
• A new computer identification file will be created with extension .SER in the same path were all plug-in files are.
• Move computer identification file with extension .SER to the spare computer with internet connection.
• Log-in in your Acustica Audio account using a web-browser application and go your account order(s) section.
• Go to your product order, and then the product to authorize (in case the order includes several products).
• Click 'browser', to browser and upload your computer identification with extension .SER.
• Download your new authorization file with extension .AUT.
• Move authorization file with extension .AUT to the offline computer, and place the file in the same path were all plug-in files are.

Also good to know: the aquas that you authorize "offline" cannot be unauthorized, and AA won't unauthorized them as they used to do when needed. Only the ones authorized in aquarius and installed on the same computer than the one where aquarius is installed can be unauthorized from aquarius.

Only the installation. Not the authorization (registration).
Basically you install with aquarius on your online computer, copy the installed file on your offline computer (except the auth file which won't work on another computer), launch the plug in your daw to create a ser file (it will be located in the place where you copied the dll of the plug), go in user account on AA site, in your order where you have the product you want to authorize with an online computer, upload the ser file generated on your offline computer, which will generate the auth file, you then copy the auth file in the same place where you have the product dll, ser file etc on your offline computer.
The steps I copied paste in my previous comment are still applicable, since the installation (not the authorization) is indeed going through aquarius. Before Aquarius, and when it was launched you could still get the installers online, in your personnal space.
That's not the case anymore and for installing you need aquarius. You can still find in your orders, in your personal space,the auth generating "tool" with the ser you get when you launch your plug in your offline computer.
