A Piano got a distinctive sound of 1 sting per voice.
What you're doing with 3 Pianos is just triple the overtones /harmonics.
So technical it's an ensemble of Pianos
or like I said before a Unison (unison In music, unison is two or more musical parts sounding the same pitch or at an octave interval, usually at the same time) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unison)

The way I did it doesnt sound like any unison/ensemble, Cs piano is the main one, the other 2 just add some missing parts, are eqed and low in volume.

Oh babuk, you don't understood what unison and unison means.:winker:
Unison in classic music is not like the unison in your fav synth .(special with detuning and spread.)

    That’s what I meant with adding/triple harmonics/overtones.

What I hate about all piano plugins and libraries, is that almost all of them have their velocity layers messed up.
it's like they accommodate only for plastic mini keyboards. So they are nice for programming but horrific to play.

    Absolute agree here.
Even with a hammer action midi and many options to config everything. 90% are messed up
And worse is there are only 128 midi velocitie Levels.
I love my "Analog" Piano for this the most.
But it's a difference thing if you keep a 30kg (66 lbs) Setup or 300kg(661 lbs) Piano with you

The NI pianos are one of the best but they are like 3-5 Gb each.

Noire is nice. No one piano fits all needs. Some sound good solo, some sit in mixes better... all depends. I've been using a combination of Noire, Pianoteq and Keyscape for most things lately. Haven't used it in a while but the upright piano from Addictive Keys was also a favorite.

I wanna thank people for the entertainment value on this thread. Some of those comments were priceless!

For my twopenny worth, I go with a Keyscape Piano 90% of the time when I need an acoustic piano, and no I never use EQ on it.

There are no bad frequencies at any point across the sound spectrum of an acoustic piano, and that goes for good quality sampled pianos too.

The only thing I will do if needed is use a high pass filter around 200hz (give or take 50) IF there is conflict with bass and drums!

Sampletank's Piano is a lot louder than most. Louder doesn't necessarily make something better.

    Mine too.

It's good, but for me both Piano in Blue 2.x and Noire.
Noire just nails it, velocity wise, sound wise.

Thankfully, I'd say. Because the cleanest piano is the best starting point, imo.
So I've never gone for a certain piano because of post-eq baked in, or built-in convolution ir spaces, or a reverb or compressor built in to the software. All bloatware, when all you need is a well recorded, deeply sampled, fully responsive...Death Sta...uh sorry, piano.
But it is great if something is inspirational to play 'straight out of the box', I agree.
