You're a talented dude no doubt. I've got to say the mixdown is on point, the kick drum is smacking hard! As far as trap/modern hip hop/rnb goes it's a really warm mix which is definately original. Most of that stuff nowadays is focused on highs and lows. The balance is on point imo...Mind if I PM you to ask for some mixing advice?

Really enjoyed it. I like the mix; pleasing and "warm" as others have said.

The one thing I'd beware of, especially when it comes to getting played in clubs, is that you have gone for some great panning with the hats imo, but that doesn't always work as a club mix. Although I always think that this genre could benefit from more creative mix decisions as you have made!
Perhaps now do some alternate mixes in regards this?

This is more of an open question to everyone but I noticed a lot of mentions of the snare being too bright. On earbuds I didn't hear that so wondering if maybe the air/extreme top end frequencies outside of standard earbud range were boosted too much?

Mix wise I do indeed have a lot of room to cover! I am on headphones without a pair of monitors available due to limitations so I have to play the guessing game at times. Even though I have to admit, that Abbey Road Studio from Waves has been super intuitive for me since I don't use actual monitors.

Thank you Peter!!! Very true, there are so many ways to experiment with audio/music, it's one of the main reasons I am literally obsessed with music. I am really glad you enjoyed it none the less!

 

Of course! You can ask me anything you like though you have to keep one important thing in mind, I am probably not the best source of advice you can get as I don't really use the appropriate tools to mix my music, like the most essential tool for example, the speakers/monitors.
Feel free to ask anything though, I'll try my best to help you out as much as I possibly can!

As to my perception this only occurs at high volume and isn't the case for all the snares/claps.
