Nice future ahead imo. Even if it means a broke one because we bought every single berhinger offerings.
We'll take best of both worlds as usual.

Probably electricity. Without it we'll be back to piano and acoustic guitars.

Touch screen with pressure sensitivity + whatever software (PD/Max or something even better, coded in more efficient language).
It would be nice to see better electronic woodwinds or string instruments.

Definitely direct connection with your brain via inserts of subcutaneous mini interfaces.

I’d be happy if someone started developing analog synths that get close to the flexibility of digital/software ones and can be automated via midi. Idk how you’d go about doing that, but that’s the dream. Like I want something as powerful as a modular setup with the sound quality and midi/control capabilities of my Subsequent 37

I want uhe to make zebra3 a physical synth lol

I’d also like a Tesla model S while I’m at it, since it should be about the same price

You have your own android that sings or plays various instruments almost perfectly and if you need he create own songs with modern KI, then you have virtual glasses on where you operate a daw with data gloves thats is the future for music create.

As much as I enjoy messing around with these Behringer clones I really don't consider that route being related to the "future" of music, more of a hobby thing. It's a bit like driving around in a classic e-Type Jaguar. Doesn't really make sense but it's soooooo fun haha

I think there was some progress in scanning the brain and creating images and sounds from it. But I doubt any of this will be available in the very near future for the masses.

    The first idea-
You want an analog computers and these are garbage, sorry.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analog_computer
Even as hybrids you run into space and cost problems.

Polyphonic hardware "analog" synths are actually hybrids, not analog (aside from Korg PS3000 series and Polymoogs; or the guys that build real ones using modular walls, but that's very bad use of space of money when they could have probably ordered custom built polyphonic synths or botique stuff like Schmidt).

High end workstations like Roland, Yamaha and Korg are comparable to decent softsynths, but worse than the best softsynths, so I doubt there is a market for high end digital synths - they will be out of reach for everyone except very rich people. Like you said it will cost as much as a decent car, plus it will be too big (if you want to recreate all the pages and knobs), making it a studio only instrument.

Only 50 were supposed to be produced. Of course, Jarre, Zimmer and similar collectors (that could afford it) bought one.

Would be really nice. But quite fearsome :wow: regarding the protection scheme for the thing. Probably some litteral bombs in there in case it gets stolen.

Good luck with these specs. You will need plenty of waveshaping and/or filter banks to achieve anything novel with analog gear.

Tru dat! The idea of buying a $20K synth to play DX7 piano sounds makes me sad.

Few of the people that buy this care about money, right?
Or 50k pianos or 10-20k guitars etc.

    Korg M1
    Released: 1988
Original price: $2166 (the sounds in this are probably not worth even the 50 usd today that Korg wants for the vst)
    ($4,709.32 in 2019)

    Yamaha DX7
    Released: 1983
    Original price: $2000
    (5,164.82 in 2019)

    PPG Wave
    Released: 1981
    Original price: $7,000
    ($19,807.00 in 2019)

    Fairlight CMI
    Released: 1979
    Original price: $27,500
    ($97,427.27 in 2019) -

    Sequential Circuits Prophet-5
    Released: 1978
    Original price: $4495
    ($20,318.98 in 2019)

    Yamaha CS-80
    Released: 1976
    Original price: $6900

    ($6,900 in 1976 → $31,190.43 in 2019)

I couldn't find the price of Synclavier, but I remember it was more expensive than CMI; imagine what people did pay for a primitive computer+software+DAW+keyboard combo.

I think that Korg, Yamaha and Roland managed to take over the market, because their stuff was significantly cheaper than whatever Western brands were selling.

Not sure they care too much about how it sounds either after hearing that YT video. I think the last time I was blown away by something of this scale was a Waldolf Wave but buggy as hell OS.
