Overall it doesn't look (on your screenshot) like penumbra is installed correctly.
What OS are you on?
Did you install "Old New Explorer" from the Penumbra folder "ONE"?



If not, then please do it and restart the PC afterwards. Let me know if this has solved your problem. Thank you

No man, thank you for even bothering to try to help me. I usually don't suck with this kind of things , but on this one I don't get it.
I just tested Old New explorer, indeed I hadn't seen it had to be installed. No dice, same after reboot. Even there, there's a problem, I see you have a black window with a white police, mine is black on black ! It's weird few elements just remain white. Top of pages, when in background, menus items, background of scrolling bars, when I do right clicks it's black for windows right click menu, but white for non windows applications (like if I right click on the icon of my sound card in the toolbar), etc.
Might have to do with the fact that the Windows LTSC I installed first was one I modified. All I did was related to the store apps, cortana, stuffs likes this, I didn't touch anything else really, and I updated in November with a full unmodified one, but probably something on that front. Other than that I have no explanation. Even in CC_panel, the colors are all dark, confirming the theme is well installed, but the problem remains.
I appreciate your help, but don't sweat it I'll adjust things so that the police color doesn't create problems (in grey on white or black on black, it's not ideal), and slightly modify the black to grey so that the remaining white doesn't clash too much with the surrounding color.
Today is a shitty day anyway - friday the 13th effect or something - might as well be shitty all the way.

Aha ! Found the issue. Two of the three dlls supposed to be patched, weren't actually patched because of the ownership biz....Thought it was okay since UltraUXThemePatcher showed a message saying all patched after the first run, but turns out only one out of three had been. Took ownership of the two not patched, runned UltraUXThemePatcher again, re applied the theme, et voila !

Man, what a relief. The theme is real nice, Reaper too.

My favorite theme is Concerto. I did some of my own edits to concerto to add the GruvBox colors scheme to a couple elements, I'm calling in "Concerto GrooveBox". Anyways, the main theme, Concerto, was made by a talented guy who goes by "blankfiles" on the Reaper forum. He does fantastic work. With the theme adjuster the trackmeter can be made larger, so that it is displayed horizontally. But you probably don't mean that.

Otherwise with Walter, but I haven't dealt with that yet.

 

I mean horizontal track meters like this. They are slim, and horizontal. Is there a way to make default theme's track meter's layout like this?..

I do not want to use mixer. It will speed up my workflow a bit.

I prefer a medium-dark theme with horizontal faders, not knobs. The Crypto theme @Pinkman refers to really appeals.
