You going to allow this trash in the thread MODS?

Fine , I'll respond to it

    Crisis

You are not taking into account so many variables when it comes to the logistics and demographics
    Of this forum.
Information, content, education presented in this way is shirt sighted and Is not going to accomplish anything or get any views once you consider the large view of this forum .
And by all means don't take my word for it.
Spend the time and effort to create a thread this approach we will look at how it does together and see how many views it gets and how helpful it is demographically.
Put your money where your mouth is.
    Do something .
Create a thread and let's see what happens .
Once you do and we see how it does
Then , by all means lecture me.
And force feed me with what is wrong with my threads.
Until then stop playing games and do something.
Invest your time and energy to create content at audiosex.pro which fulfills the following criteria .
    1.brings in a high traffic
    2.actually helps those people
3.lifts the forum in the process financially through the traffic and ad revenue .

    Once you complete this task.
I'll have any conversation you want to have
About what is wrong and incorrect about
    My threads .

Fine I'll clean it up .

    Brain cells. ..What brain cells...?

There's this little thing called critical thinking .
Comparing a stranger in a forum you just arrived at 1 day ago to Donald trump .
When you cannot possibly have enough information to fathom this community ( after being here for 1 day )
Is the worst use of imagination since the invention of the backpack toilet .

You cannot differentiate between imagined characters you invent in thoughts .
And real people that exist outside of your mind.

Cognition of sounds, music theory, philosophy of cognition and philosophy of music, and philosophy of music theory are separate disciplines that don't really overlap...

Criticising and attacking are not the same thing crisis merely showed an example of a well presented explanation of some basic music theory to compare the difference between mmj's way of explaining things and how others do the same thing and mmj calls it trash. If someone is prepared to place unsolicited information in a web forum they have to be able to take criticism of it regarding the presentation of said information without flying into a rage when it is not as well received as they would like.

    True altruism needs no praise.

I don't think for a moment that if mmj or any other individual member were to cease posting that these forums would perish due to a lack of user participation I also noticed that mmj features in the members info under most negative posts. Also I think that disparaging others for the length of time they have been registered on the forum is not very pleasant and isn't relevant to the content of their posts their opinions are as valid as anyone else's opinion regardless of how long they have been registered in the forum.

The original post started off as a question and has devolved into a tirade. Why not simply start off a music theory topic with asking if people would like to know about something specific and if there is interest then answer the questions or even better leave it for others to start their own posts to ask questions and then answer them. Then you can dazzle them with your lucid explanations and consummate grasp of all things pertaining to that most indispensable of all things music theory(opening bars of Beethoven's 5th ring out in the background) .If such information is unsolicited then expecting praise at the very least shows a lack of humility.

I don't think the mods should have to get involved in policing a thread unless there is obvious denigration being directed at an individual which I don't think is the case here.

    No. Wrong.

Mmj calls trash a 1 day old user showing a several comments long trash talk , not having conversation. So get your facts straight .
There's lot of variables involved in the way I present information that a 1 day old user cannot fathom.
A 1 days user could not under any circumstances take into account logistics and demografics overtime .
It's easy for you or a 1 day old user come here and half baked ideas at guessing what way to present music theory.
Shut your mouth, instead create a thread show me .
Right this moment create a thread and put your claims to test.
I'm tired of this everyone things they have a light bulb moment yet considers no variables on large scale. You need to get a lot of views so the thread helps lot people and helps the forum itself.
If your ideas or 1 days users ideas so enlightend.
School me with doing something .
    Not flapping your lips.
Create a thread and tell me how easy it is to get 8000 views in music theory in 1 week that generates money to keep the forum going and is helpful to every person who reads it.
You know how easy it is to bust out random ideas with tiny scale view?
I can go to a quatum mechanics non linear equation conference and just run my mouth and work done right? Just attempt to make a thread that most people can use the information, you'll find out real quick how good your half baked notions are my friend.

You create a thread showing only sheet music and get 50 views in 1 month.

It's so easy to think of 1 varible in a situation and ignore the other 999 right?
    What a joke.
Lecture me about my hundreds of thousands of views in total my text threads have gotten

When you make a thread that's able to get off the ground.
Now on the other hand if you politely talk to me that's different.
But coming here like your a boss?
    Nope .
You know with crisis or your bright ideas
The forum should have so many threads with tens of thousands of views a peice if it works like you 2 say right?
Go click on the thread look at 3 years of views the whole forum.
Look at the entire forums last 5 years.
This is why right now I'm telling you you are a clown commenting what you just did talking to me like you did .
Do you know what logistics are?
Have you looked in depth at the forum?

So, @the real Pict, you dare to make a careful, polite comment about your observations of what's going on in the forum, and what happens next?

MMJ responds to your polite observations by accusing you of spreading 'half-baked ideas'
and he tells you explicitly to "Shut your mouth" "not flapping your lips".
He thinks you are guilty of "bust out random ideas with tiny scale view".

Apparently, we are supposed to believe that you are the villain here, it is 'your sane polite comments' that are out of place in this thread, while MMJ's grotesque demeaning insults are all just hunky dory.

    What a strange place...
    People offer sane observations.
Those sane people get mud thrown at them and are simultaneously accused of being mud slingers.
The world here is just upside down - it's comical in some ways, but mostly just pathetic.

    but then again,
why not stop spamming this thread with all sorts of irrelevant unsolicited hot air around what's in your opinion wrong with this thread and create your own instead?

MMJ if you think that what you have written above is polite then your grasp of the English language is far more lacking than you realise.I unlike you, have no need nor desire to post an UNSOLICITED thread explaining points of music theory. If someone were to post a question to which I had an answer that I thought might help then I might respond what I would not do is harangue people with clumsily explained unsolicited information and then try to gain kudos by claiming that I am doing the forum a huge favour due to my altruistic and generous nature. You are very rude using terms like "shut your mouth" "flapping your lips" etc who do you think you are?You display all the signs of an immature mental midget bandying poorly considered language like that around a well attended forum.Your one man crusade to "bring value" to the forum is derisory something you are probably incapable of understanding you have my sympathy or maybe that should be pity.

First of all, I think that music theory could help you to work as a musician. However, because there is a fundamental difference between language and music, it is not right to compare them in the same place. Language is artificial promise between members of a particular society. It wasn't originally meant to mean that, but people just decided to use it that way. But music wasn't made by people, and music theory is only records for the attributes music itself already has. In other words, language is a promise that is set by others, so you cannot know it without learning. But even if you don't learn music, you can already feel instinctively. That is the essential difference between language and music. Thus, even if you do not know music theory, one who is naturally gifted to express his or her feelings through music can certainly do it well. Of course, if they studied theory they would be able to work faster and more efficiently. It will also greatly help communication between people who have studied the same theory. But that's not a deciding factor in whether or not you can do music.

P.S. I'm not good at Eng. I was helped by Google translator, but there could be some bad Eng. Please understand this. :)

Thanks for you thoughts on the matter.
I'll keep looking through the forum day to day.
The moment you create a thread that is a success that surpasses others I'll have a talk with you about those matters . As of now you have some ideas fine. Go build up the forum and teach people I'll collaberate with you hear your ideas I'm happy to do it that way I'm not upset or mad at you at all .
Also if you make threads that's 5 times the views and ad revenue as mine I'll just be a joke to you.
    Cool right?
You will have " put your money where your mouth is "
I'm not having a shortage of ideas right now or having any type issues getting enough views per thread .
But it means a lot these issues are that important to you.there might be a bright future ahead for you here with all your ideas .

Aya thank you for your comment your point that music does not rely on theory is well made.I think that most people would agree that it is absolutely not necessary but also very useful .It definitely does give a set of suggestions as to where you might take a musical idea if you were stuck for inspiration and I use my understanding of theory daily. It's simply better to know of options than to remain ignorant of them.:)

    Thanks @Aya ...
You just broadened the 'philosophy of music theory' discussion into a 'philosophy of music' discussion - nicely done.
And with that, a million arguments could rage constructively.

I'll comment on just a few bits please...
when you said "But music wasn't made by people.. ... attributes music itself already has"
That comment could be misinterpreted and get some blowback I think.

I think... because music is such a fabulously rich thing, it is meaningful to regard some aspects of music as belonging to the world of physics and maths. We could then have a deep but unresolved philosophy discussion about whether those maths/physics aspects are 'brute fact reality' or 'social constructions'.
But those maths/physics aspects are not the aspects that most people are attracted to. Most people prefer to enjoy the aspects of music that definitely are social, cultural constructs, i.e., the stuff that definitely 'is created by people'.

Then we could argue a lot over which features of music are in the 'unalterable maths/physics' bag and which features are in the 'endlessly malleable social construct' bag. A problem (or rich challenge) is that we can discuss different kinds of 'music theory' in both bags.

I would suggest that more than 95% (a pointlessly invented number) of everything that matters to most of us, most of the time, in music, is definitely 'human made' and is therefore far less bound by rules than some dogmatic pseudo-theorists think.

I agree 100% with your other (philosophical) comments (below) about the relevance of music theory...
    ---

I think it is kind of you (but totally unnecessary) to offer that comment. Firstly, because the language is fine, but far more importantly, because when your thoughts and ideas are as clear and constructive as yours, language glitches just don't matter.
