It's sir. Well, old fuck to be precise. After the Cashmere-gate you are wise to be cautious abut that

Our brief interchange started because in this thread about PA plugins you called some of them "little bitches" compared to a totally different plugin technology. I saw that quite OT and a bit snobbish. Just like you just did again.

I think you wanted to quote @statik

You are missing the point. I was never arguing about the mixing capabilities of AA plug-ins. My whole point was P R O D U C T I O N. You've switched the topic from AA Plugins to hardware. But we are not talking about hardware - if we were I wouldn't have to think about latency and CPU resources.

The "small gains" are something else for me than for you. I create sounds from a sound source, with sound generators, 1st level, nucleus shit.

Audio plugins is 2nd level order, periphery stuff. It's for people like Engineers who do not have access to the 1st level. In other words: I rather use 2 more instances of Serum than sacrificing them for one AA channelstrip.

I didn't switch topics at all. I was merely making a point that its worth the hassle to get better quality. Hardware is similar when it comes to the extra work you have to put in to get "small" quality increase. People don't like to freeze because it's a hassle to freeze and possibly have to go back and change processing, especially if you're doing sound design stuff with synths. Trust me, I understand that point. I make Dubstep, House, and other electronic genres. If you're doing unique sound design you're going to have to do a ton of resampling or freezing most the time anyway. Also, if you are using Acustica plugins you have to gainstage properly. If you don't come into an Acustica plugin at -18 to -12 db you will get bad artifacts. I recently did some processing on a house kick with Navy 2 and the difference between Comp 2 on there and other compression plugins was night and day. Huge difference. Magenta and the Diamond plugins are crazy good for electronic music.
