I don't know how I got to lose the full midis folder, I had all the EZ and SD libraries until version 2. Anyone willing to share theirs? :)

This is the best screen recorder hands down. Everybody agrees: gamers, plain users like me,...
If you want more features you have Camtasia but that is a full-fledged video editor.

Yes Pirat has now deleted all mention that the guy on the sister site tried to share Every Toontack Pack. Looks like he doesnt want them out there unless he decides to share them. But I contacted the guy and he shared them by PM and they are 100% all there (but I cant share them, as I promised because they are not mine to share, as he bought them)

Maybe you should have kept that to yourself instead of blowing up his spot. Maybe he didn’t want everybody to know that. PiRAT might even delete this thread now

Well, actually I asked him if I could tell people on here that it was available from him by PM, and he said it was OK.
He said he would have done it himself but he is that P*ssed off, with the whole place and the way people act that he is having a rest for a while.
And we Promised Not To Share, we didnt promise to not talk about it. He wanted to share himself and if not on the board then via PM, he wants people to know about it and that its available by PM (again he told me this, so think before you accusse Mud Jones and NO I wont break my promise not to share Moleman)

Your 000002 @ N.Y_-_ALLAIRE and 000004 @ CUSTOM#VINTAGE should have 4 zeros instead of 5. If in doubt of how correct your toontrack midi's main folder name is, you can also check the database of folders installed by toontrack setup of EZdrummer or Superior Drummer 3 at these relevant locations.
    C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\Superior Drummer 3\Database and or C:\ProgramData\Toontrack\EZdrummer\Database.
    - This location is not the midi folder location but just a database of all toontrack based packs they have ever released.
    - Custom or Third Party naming will not be included here obviously.

Ok since everybody out here snitching I guess it’s on. I’ll try to think before I speak... Thinking........... ok
I promised both not to tell nor share, and he didn’t say anything about wanting me to.
I won’t be surprised if PiRAT removes posts from here like he did on the sister since like it or not it’s his sandbox. Of course I don’t agree with him but my opinion doesn’t matter just like yours doesn’t, but I’m with Moleman on this. It shouldn’t have been mentioned publicly unless one is ready to share.. unless they’re just trying to get a reaction from PiRAT.

but why i should bother try to correct that, will it change anything ?

SD3 sees those midi grooves and they load up & plays just fine

It does work even if you put any other name since its contents are just midi files in the end, but doing that organizes the packs correctly, and if they do release a midi update it will just install in the correct folder else you would have to manually copy them. I like when things are properly organized with no duplicates (eg. if you have the NY Vol3 SDX Library then you should ideally keep 00003 @ N.Y_-_VOLUME_3 instead of add-on pack 000344 @ N.Y_-_VOLUME_3 since its the same thing.) You can leave it as it is, if the order of what you see in the midi browser window is fine with you.

as the midi guru demha said it's all about what you see in the grooves window, the reason I started down this whole rabbit hole was because I had midi grooves displayed in the wrong category, they still worked but I couldn't handle seeing them not under the proper category in the browser. O.C.M.D. (obsessive compulsive midi disorder) and apparently demha suffers from it too.

O.C.D. :dunno: I wouldn't know. I am just being practical.
Now, if Mud Jones would simply capitalize the "A" at the beginning of his reply, and ThrashHead, you just move that emoticon over one more space, everything will be OK.

Something may be weird for me. I see what looks like a master "\Database\" folder in my custom location of:
    "H:\Daw Lib TT\EZdrummer\". In there are the folders: \Database\, \<all EZX packs>\, and \Midi\.

In my "ProgramData\Toontrack\EZdrummer\Database" folder, there is only one folder: "02_@EZDRUMMER_2_MODERN#VINTAGE".
(It seems to be an content-exact duplicate of the folder in my "H:\Daw Lib TT\EZdrummer\Database" folder.)
    -------------------------
I also DO have a "ProgramData\Toontrack\Superior Drummer 3\Database" folder that looks like the real thing.
(It also has other folders and files in there, and some seem "stray".)

But, both of those database folders have the same xxxx@ named midi folders, and seem to be working.
It seems strange that the EZdrummer one is not in "ProgramData\Toontrack\EZzdrummer" location, but maybe that is due to selecting a custom path (on install ?) but I chose the same path on first launch of Superior Drummer 3, too. (I had my library already existing on my "H" drive).
Just a little OCD, I suppose... But HEY, that's what keeps the planes from falling out of the sky, too!

I like that Bandicam (I should have noticed the watermark, but i was focused on the list ).
A great prog for sharing directory structures (and logging them) is Snap2HTML and I'll attach my Program Data folder in case someone would be kind enough to comment on the stuff in the "Superior Drummer 3" folder.
... I also have 2 empty folders "Superior2" & "Superior3" and leave them alone, too, but what do I know... (-||-)

How would you guys organize 3rd party midi?

I have a bunch of platinum samples, groovemonkey and others. I want them to show up separately in their own category, but don't want to waste time and screw it all up if someone has already done it.

The empty folders "Superior2" only contain 2 folders CombinedPresets and PresetSounds. Those were where the old preset packs reside such as SP-Koloss, Charles Feelgood NY Pack, Allen Morgan Avatar Pack 2 etc. You dont need them unless you still have some projects with SD2. And Superior3 folder only contains an errlog.doc file which is actually from an older installers. If you installed the latest EZDrummer v2.1.8 CE it installs databases to "ProgramData\Toontrack\EZdrummer\Database" or if you installed Superior Drummer 3.1.5 CE that one installs the databases to default "ProgramData\Toontrack\Superior Drummer 3\Database" and also creates two folders "Superior2" and "Superior3" (just leave them as is).

And yes the duplicate H:\Daw Lib TT\EZdrummer\Database is because you chose a custom midi folder location at initial install. Do not mess with the database folders at default location "ProgramData", if you rename/move/delete the database of EZdrummer at default location it will result in a midi database mismatch error. Even if you can move to any other hard disk and you will get an error saying "please reinstall" but this can be easily fixed without re-installing. Also its safe to delete the H:\Daw Lib TT\EZdrummer\Database as long as you have a copied the contents of that to "ProgramData\Toontrack\EZdrummer\Database" and if EZdrummer asks for missing folder point it to the programdata folder.

As a precaution take a backup of the folders before you try those. I installed the latest versions of both EZD2 and SD3 while giving a custom path to the midi folder in the setup as VR installs their own organised version of the midis, before i installed i renamed my original organised folder as MIDI2 and let VR install the midis then renamed VRs MIDI to something else and restored my organized version back to MIDI. Doing this didnt mess up my MIDI folder contents with the VRs ones.

Thats what I am working on. Please wait until i checked the sounds as some of platinum grooves,Keyfax, some bfd grooves, etc.. were not mapped properly to toontracks format. Some hits were wrong. I compared them in BFD3 where they were derived from. Some one posted a huge library called mega drums midis, all not sorted and just put there without knowing if it will work properly with EZD2 or SD3. If you know EZPlayer pro then you can convert any midis to work with anyother drum software but its tricky. Midis come in various different types, type 0, 1, 2 and GM (General midi) not Groove monkee.. See this screen shot [IMG] MaxthonSnap20191210205935.jpg
Is it something like this you need?

Yes, something like that. Right now I have 3rd party midi in a backup folder and only have toontrack midi installed. But in a previous install I had them in the midid folder and it was showing up in many sub menu/sub categories to the point of frustration so I just took them all out and just kept the toontrack files.
