I am unsure if I can use free pirated software from audioz.net without any compromises. Decades ago I experienced 'cracked' software and there were often compromises. I can't have any impedances with my music making. So I paid for my DAW (MOTU DP). I have bought toontrack superior drummer and 70s abbey road drummer.
I have spent the last 10 years buying analogue and digital outboard and 2 track tape machines to bounce to in an effort to get as far away from plug in mixing as possible. I have also collected most real instruments I need, piano, drums, sax and trumpet etc etc.

I want to utilise sampled strings for disco funk grooves. I am looking at NI session strings pro 2 and others.

Is there any compromise in functionality of these software instruments?
Would any experienced users have any wisdom to share in regards to me downloading software instruments/libraries and having it work smoothly? I would like to try the other abbey rd drummer series, scarbee clarinet etc.

Any experienced downloaders who want to share wisdom in regards to successful use of these software instruments/libraries? Any tips? e.g. 'Buy Kontakt and just download the libraries or something else?
NI Black Friday 50% off sale ends December 9 so I have an opportunity to buy half price in the next four days lol. I am on a MacBook. Buying Digital Performer or any software gives access to technical support which is an advantage.

As far as I can see audioz.net isnt a audiowarez site but a real company that produces music. I guess you mean our sister site here...but this is not audioz.net

The only compromise to use pirated apps is the shame of using them and the stress of not being sure that the next update will be cracked as well. The rest (less performance, more latency, hidden viruses), that's an urban legend propagated by companies to limit the breakage and I understand them lol
Frankly, if you can afford to pay VST or Kontakt library, do not hesitate, the pleasure and comfort of using a legit product has no limit and productivity is increased because we always have more will to make an investment profitable, and often we succeed.
You have taken a good habit using mostly hardware, the virtual world of VST is very abstract and boring if you fall in the loop of (I try this, I try that), nothing beats the knobs of an REAL amp and the neck of a REAL guitar.

Generally, most cracked programs work exactly like the legit ones, unless it was cracked by a sketchy group. Generally, but not always.

For the rest of your questions the answer is simple: there is no functionality limit with cracked software if it's well cracked.
Best thing to do is search for it at AudioZ and read the comments if you want to make sure it works properly.
Buying Kontakt to use cracked libraries is not a good idea as recent Kontakt versions come with integrated protection against this.

Conclusion if you can afford it, buy the software and it's libraries, you will have more time for your music.
Otherwise, check before downloading.

 

As Olymoon also mentioned, just making it clear, legit Kontakt (that you buy) does not load unregistered (that you called cracked) libraries that you want to download from the net. Not the libraries that are cracked, it's Kontakt that have the K'ed version that allows using officially not registered libraries.
Any legit software can be buggy, unfortunately, which will compromise your workflow, almost as much as non-legit versions, even on MacOS!

I feel like you'll be a lot happier with your "legit only" setup. A lot of people start with cracked stuff, and then have to put in major time-consuming efforts to get away from it and go legit.

Cracked stuff may be just as useable, but you'll always have that worry in the back of your mind. Did it just crash/corrupt the project because of the crack (very possible indeed), or was that a developer bug? As a general rule, legit software runs more stable - although there were a couple of shocking exceptions where the cracking teams fixed the dev's bugs and made the software run better by removing clumsy copy protection!

Gotta think about your subjective feelings in this case. You'll probbaly be a lot happier and more productive knowing that everything you're using in your rig is legit, due to your personality as described in your original post. Plus, as a hardware head, the less you get mired in unnecessary software the better for productivity!

One particular additional tool to use with the above is Melodyne Studio. Its polyphonic intonation will help you easily re-arrange and re-pitch phrases, changing chords, grooves and melodies to your liking. I have been doing this to death since it was implemented in Melodyne. Sky's the limit mate.
For Kontakt, grab Action Strings and Emotive Strings. Both these NI libraries contain many ready made rhythmic strings cliches/patterns that you can easily change/adjust to your liking, a must for laying down those quick "second row" groovy background strings.
For additional inspiration and flavor while you are at it, grab Organic Loops Retro Funk And Disco. You might also find handy these two from Zero G: Space Disco & Sounds of the 70's, also from Sample Magic Cosmic Disco. Loopmasters True Disco is another one worth mentioning.

PS: Don't bother downloading Samplephonics Soul and Disco Strings, it sucks, fake glissandos, weak sounds, badly tuned quartets, bad release :D. Oh and whatever you do, don't upgrade to Catalina. If you have done so already, just restore back to Mojave with Time Machine. Also if your budget isn't enough to buy all, don't buy anything. As mentioned, it's Kontakt that has to be a cracked version so it can run the unregistered libraries. Kontakt 6.1 and upwards will work nicely with whatever library you choose to dl.
