Whats up you dirty rotten pirateS of the cyber sea!
I'm trying to kiss ass this year and get my Mentor something for Christmas... He's also a pretty cool guy lol
He is CRAZY into guitars. But what does someone get a person who has stuff like a Kemper.. AND ON A INTERNS BUDGET.. Racking my brain but cant find anything that is practical, cool, and not $1,000.
Also he's A Mixer but stuff like plugins he's like the rest of us fishing around on sister..
    Heeeeelp mee!

So what do you guys think I could get him. $50-$75ish.
I'd get him a few packs of strings or something but I have no knowledge of guitars besides basics.

Distortion & overdrive pedals, even with a kemple you can't have enough of them.

  5. as a guitarist myself I can say that someone else (other than me) will have a bad time making a present... because everything is too much personal for us... but you can maybe try some nice straps... they are like neckties for us...

I've been spreading the love and gifting friends guitar picks from BlueChip. They are made from a very high tech material called Vespol which is self lubricating and offers no drag whatsoever when passing over the strings. They are incredibly durable and I have played close to 100 hours now with mine and it shows no wear which is amazing. You can personalize it, and whatever you decide to have engraved won't wear away (two lines of 8 characters each for an additional cost of 5 bucks). The tone and the feel of this pick to me on acoustic guitar is like...getting head from Marylin Monroe. I would suggest getting a TD 35 which is about 75mm thick and shaped like a traditional guitar pick. It will cost $35 + $5 for the engraving.

    Ho Ho Ho

    Merry Christmas

the amount you have is small, I would put the money into 1 or 2 tickets for a good concert or a clinic
...maybe a portable guitar amp :dunno:

I don’t know of any product specifically but as a (very mediocre) guitarist myself, something that I would find useful that you could probably get for cheap would be some kind of trinket that holds and organizes guitar accessories like picks, capos, etc. you could ask him what kind of strings and picks he likes and get him some spares. I guess that kind of stuff doesn’t make a very sexy gift but for sure it will eventually be used

Everybody came with the A Game for gifts!
Stuff that I didnt even think about!
ahem...may we speak privately over here for a moment? lol

Would a Auto Tuner be like... Insulting? I WOULD love one of those lol

The winner I think though.... Besides if Lemmy gets back to me...
    Is BLUE CHIP!
These little guys are bad ass!
Some say they last up to a year or more, Plus for $5 extra can get a nifty little engraving..
Maybe get the Name of his studio or something put on it.

With the money left over I'll probably try to find a quirky strap.. Iunno giant dicks or something printed across.

But thank you guys soooo much You made this incredibly less stressful and came with incredible ideas!

    @NeverenoghFun ,
How about offering a yearly subscription to a Guitar oriented magazine: This way, he will be reminded of your gift each and every month.

If he has a 12 string... Hell no. This thing has been a huge timesaver for me. eg. trying to get the initial tuning on a tremolo equipped guitar, tuning up a 12 string, etc. If you're using clip on tuners, chromatic tuners, etc. already, what's the difference (is my thoughts). If you tune everything by ear (almost nobody does these days) then I don't know.
