    From what I understand, the 'surf mode' only works with mono signals, or did I missinterpret the explanation given in the video?

    Sort of yes. The correct term should be single voice (or mono timbral) as in terms of polyphony. Which means you could have a stereo bass and still use surf & detection mode on the channel, np. So any solo instrument will fit the example. You can always do percussion parts not just melodic instruments. And it is a very capable EQ, one of the best imho, for general use too. They have improved it a lot over v.1 which was very heavy on the cpu. Now it's lighter and faster and with all those bands that you can choose to work in Surf Mode i dunno which else EQ can match it. In mixing it has saved me hours of automating EQ changes.

    Ps: An interesting experiment would be to split a polyphonic track to many mono tracks with Melodyne Studio and then use Surfer EQ on each of the split files. Hmmm... i need to try this.

    also thanks to mixing with mike mike.....thats plugin of the week videos are my first go to now if checking for plugin tutorial...
