Quick question.. I'm on v9 and want to upgrade to 11 but I noticed the install file is less than 1GB. Do I need to install v10 first and then install the update for 11?

ALSO for Waves 10 I see 2 downloads one that is 4GB and one that is 2GB. The 2GB file is more recent than the 4GB. Which should I go with?

You did not mention your os/platform, but i'm gonna try to reply anyway, to Install waves 11, you just need to delete and uninstall v9, clean your os, with any number of program like cCleaner on windows, or CleanmyMac on mac, reboot and install directly the last version.

The problem is that the version i know of to be v11, is at least 4Gb so be careful where you download from.

    good luck.

On the sister site Waves 11 for Mac is 11GB but the one for windows is 173 MB (I'm on Windows 10.) So I assumed it would just upgrade me to version 11. At least I hope that's the case as I just got version 10.

You don't need version 10. The Windows v11 you mention enables you to download the individual products from the Devs website. It's small because it does not contain any plugins. People usually recommend to uninstall what you have first, before upgrading.

The good news is that you can still make great stuff with v10.

For future refernece in a few years when I decide to upgrade to v11.. so it works by installing plugins directly from the website even if you don't have a Wave license? Just double checking because I'm installing v10 now and have to make sure I do offline installation otherwise it tells me there's no license for Wave products.

Yeah, that's the idea. I would recommend you taking a closer look at the v11 release. I'm only going by what I've read in a short time in the release thread. You would do well to check it out, release notes first and then comments if there's anything unclear. And to echo what's been said many times- remember to support the developer if you make money with the products.
