So, I recently purchased Xpand!2 because it is on sale for dirt cheap.. went to install it, and I see I need to also install iLok. I've heard a lot of people complain about this software, even from people who keep everything on the up and up.

My question is, am I going to cause myself issues by installing iLok and Xpand!2? I mean, I have some software that is iLok but cracked. Will it cause issues with current cracked software? Will it potentially cause problems installing cracked software in the future? (both questions relating to software that normally uses iLok)

I've blocked access to the internet for my DAW.. is that pretty much all that is required, if even that?

 

I'm on PC too.. windows 10, in my case. I'll give it a go tomorrow night, if someone doesn't say it's a bad idea. Are you on Windows 10? I saw some stuff that scared me off a bit on iLok and Win10, but that was at least a year ago, so I'd imagine things are better by now.

 

You most likely won't have any problems... I've been having both cracked & legal iLok stuff (Win7) and they just don't interfere (never seen a cracked plug appearing in iLok app).
Supposedly iLok cracked plugs have it totally removed (that's why sometimes you'll see in nfos that this release loads faster than the original) so there's no reason to worry

 

You won't have any problems. Teams who cracked iLok stuff took care of it
