Behringer have just teased a new synth, which suggests it is a WASP clone....:woot::woot::woot:

This is a synth I have wanted since I was a teenager but could never own due to price and rarity! If it is a clone of the EDP WASP as suggested, I will certainly be buying one!

Really interested to hear Behringer's OSCar too.
I've never heard anything come close to the sound of the original which is weird considering it's a digital synth (apart from the filter!).

Actually Bunford, your quote, "Nobody can steal the things that are in my head", may not actually ring true as give Behringer an inch and they will perhaps copy your thoughts and put out a similar, less expensive version of Bunford, color your skin, hair and eyes a little differently though and call it a day.

Sadly (or, from my prspective, luckily), I have already my WASP, it's called Arturia Microfreak, and in combination with a reverb like the one built in my cheap behringer mixer, it can be insanely funny and inspiring to toy around with. For a relatively modest price, it's also polyphonic (i am really tired of those monophonic sirens). It is also digital, and partly analog. It has something like polyphonic aftertouch - not really offering serious expressive playing capabilities on that sensor keyboard, but again - a funny machine that has wild and strange sounds. While I like Behringer and what they try to do, I think this will not succeed like their many other clones. Wasn't there already a DYI-Wasp ?

good they didn't recreate the awful membrane keypad! I'm surprised they've picked the Wasp as it never seemed that popular/ well known.
I recall Sheep on Drugs and 808 State using one on a few tracks back in the day.

It was a cheapo synth even back in the day. I'd rather see "bOSCar" happen. I'd be all over it, damn!

But also... it's refreshing to see them releasing some not so common synths, no matter what. I wonder how it sounds in comparison to the real thing.

Considering the recent Behringer releases I'd predict it's going to sound exactly the same as the original!
I still have my old OSCar and I've yet to hear anything that comes close to it. IMPOScar sounds nice but absolutely way off the feral tones of the original.
