Is there a way to make sylenth1 sound like a wavetable synth like serum? Any ideas?

 

No,not really

Best thing would be LFO on Phaser and Chorus and Phase which could do some WT- like Sounds. But it's a weak solution .

I like Serum but don't like Steve Duda’s price politics with near to never sales.
And his NFR stuff since a few weeks.

 

It would be interesting to see a plugin that would use the real-time outputs of other instruments as wavetables.
Maybe that seems absurd, as I only understand the very basics...
Certainly it seems the CPU power needed to do it in realtime might be prohibitive, but the idea intrigues me.
There is a lot that can be done with VST effects, but I am thinking more "under the skin", with re-synthesizing.
I suppose it is crazy, because multiple WT synths are going to have more than anyone needs anyway and can optimize the process and not worry about real-time insanity.
But for hardware it's a different story... hmmm...

yeah I just thought sylenth with wavetables would be nice... but hive already exists.

 

Try to modulate FM amount and filters to get that piercing dubstep/brostep tone, if that's what you called "WT synth sound"...I'm not sure if sylenth can FM, but many other synths can.

And just to mention that ANA from sonic academy could read serum WTs, according to what their website says. BTW it has an excellent presets manager.

 

Off topic and late, but just FYI wavetables are plain .wav files. So all WT synths which support custom WTs will support them.

 

Old thread, but you can do pseudo- scanning of wavetables with modulated hardsync and regular analogue shapes. "Wavetable modes" in synths like Massive, Serum etc can be replicated with phase distortion, fm or pm, or waveshaping.

to make Sylenth1 sound like WT synth you need to use LFOs on Phase, Filter, Wave, Distort, Phaser, Chorus modulations. A lot of such modulations!!!
