Since it’s only a rompler as I remember back in the days when I used it, I’m asking myself why it’s necessary to release a version number 3.
Unless you can’t tweak the sounds or layers a new plugin is pretty useless in my eyes.
They would probably benefit more from new expansion kits ..

This belongs to "software news" section, not the industry news.

    Look at their marketing:

    • Available November 29th 2019
    • Free upgrade if you buy NEXUS2 now
    • Free upgrade for all NEXUS2 owners who purchased on August 1st 2019 or later
    • Fully backwards compatible with Nexus1 and Nexus2.
    • All your expansions will continue to work
    • New, flat, scaleable, vector-based UI
    • Faster, bigger, better in every way
    • VST2, VST3, AU and AAX support
    • 64-bit only
Now you know why a version 3...

Btw, all customers that bought it before August 1st 2019 are penalised.
I will wait till they are close to release v4 to buy V3 so I got 4 for free..,

The only change i see is 64-bit only. Likely now, reFx would have come with an invincible protection system which consists of 2 iLoks. 1 is not enough. And $250 price tag will also change to 300-350. Fully backwards compatible means they have not added any great new future. Overall refx is so broke it just wants to force people to buy the same stuff again. Faster, bigger, better - it means expansions will now cost 100dollars instead of the standard $60 price. Get ready to buy 9-10 year old stuff again at increased prices.

Why would they need to sell nexus 3 at an extremely high price, when it is much better to sell it much cheaper, and later charge 100 bucks for several expansions...

Nexus was exactly like sylenth1 and massive: at one point, because all the top producers were using sylenth and massive, EVERYBODY had to buy and own it.
Exactly the same with nexus: even if it was just a mere rompler, with a nice interface, because some top artists were using it, suddenly, everabody had to have it, because 'x and y top producers have released several hits, made with nexus'.

I remember it was possible to buy a 'everything bundle' for around 2'800-3'000 euros !
refx/vengeance must have made do much fukin money...insane!

so much money, that, for almost 10 years, they didnt even have to release another product...
a 'bit' like Access Music, and their virus c/ti, that, still today, stores like Thomann are still selling dozens of units , on a daily basis. .

The exact same strategy as Avenger: 'let's release it, for less than 200 bucks, with only a few hundreds of presets, so users can then buy 128-patches expansions, for 70 euros each'...

Spectrasonics release a synth like omnisphere, and include several thousands of presets, so users have enough material to work with, for the next 5 years.

Vengeance/refx release Avenger or nexus, with a limited amount of presets, so users can start buying 70-euro expansions, since day-1...

I don't dare imagining how many nexus were sold to all the producers 'damn, i need nexus, if i want to make the next big hit, like the top guys, i need it!'....200'000 copies....300'000....400'000...

Nexus Is useful if you actually write music and dont wank everytime over your awesome sound design skills xD

The guys who make soundsets for nexus and even manuel sometimes talk about that the next nexus update would be the big thing... Maybe they release finally a more tweakable version

And Avenger is a fukin beast, you dont really need these overpriced expansions if you know some sound design, you can do almost everything with it.

... But I don't really trust vengeance, and I hate the mindset that they have against piracy... All their products need an elicenser... avenger just needed a serial number, but it got cracked.. Now they want to implement codemeter on avenger because some fuckin dude on kvr told them that codemeter would be safe. Why don't they just stick with elicenser?

    I hate it ahhhhh

Old piece of old crap with same old sound, but x64 and scalable resizeable GUI... Never needed since I bought the third PC in 2012... It was an extra for me in 2000s, but not now, because having spire, serum, sylenth, u-he, massive, fm8, op-x pro ii, rob papen, linplug, arturia, polyana, synapse dune&legend, surge, synthmaster, xils lab, z3ta2, and billions of other synths with billions of soundbanks/waveforms for them + kontakt and reaktor with 3rd party libraries and expansions, terrabytes of sample libraries, fx processing.... Who still needs this shit? Who wants to prove he is the best with nexus2/3? If they nexus 3 will be something like omnisphere v2 vs. omnisphere v1, this will be interesting. But "Scaleable resizeable vectorized GUI, bigger, faster, stronger x64 only, vst2vst3" is just only an upgrade for modern computers with retina/hidpi monitors with modern frameworks and formats to achieve standards, and nothing new more. Just graphically/frameworky polished to be as other plugins of 2015-2019. What about DSP? Synthesis engine? New layering system?

Why you need Nexus if we have Dune 3, Ana 2 and Spire? a real synthesizers, not simple sample player with very limited edition capabilities.

well you seem to need billions of other software to replace nexus :D
But ur also right, if you have serum or spire and Kontakt for the more organic sounds you're good to go and dont really need nexus. And omnisphere kills the nexus eighter way

nexus is not worth the money. the demo's they put out are a con because they've had so much processing applied that the actual presets sound nothing like what they sound like in the demo's. an identical sound in a synth like spire, serum, sylenth sounds so much cleaner, fatter and better than it does in nexus. nexus maybe kinder on the cpu, but you'd do better getting a synth like the ones ive mentioned previous imo.
