Unable to drag n drop files into Cubase 8 from Win 10 Explorer?

    Cubase 8

    Windows 10 64 bit


    Strange issue - I am unable to drag & drop MIDI or audio files from Windows Explorer into any Cubase 8 project where as with my old Cubase 5 on Windows 7 64 bit I could drag and drop all files.


    I have googled and read anything I can find on this and on the Steinberg forum a previous user was advised to make sure that Cubase was not being run as an admin.

    I have checked and mine is not so I am at a loss - has anyone else had this and cured it?

    You're probably running Cubase as an administrator. For some weird reason Windows won't allow you to drag anything to any application if you're running that application as an admin.

    try through Open Library,,and access the cubase 5 project...

    <TRY to drag and drop the file over cubase task bar on the top>tried on cubase 10 and its working >
