    So!
Been a bit since I posted a track on here. always get good feedback from the pirate clan fam!
I re-recorded a song but this time using the UAD Arrow through the Stock 610B Pre amp that comes with the Analog bundle.
i can't be more hyped at the sound. What do you guys think?

    New Version

    OLD VERSION

I'm sold on UAD Converters and Unison tech!
Plugins are dope but in no rush there.

Both versions i used a Rhode NT1 Going straight into interface
    New version UAD Arrow
    Old Berhinger Uphoria

That first first version was harsh and essy as hell; almost un-listenanble. I'm not a huge UAD fan, but version 2 cleared all that right up.

the new version is softer but a little flatter,
the old version is deeper but a little blurry
    btw both sound very good
I prefer the old version (personal taste)

nothing to say about the plugs but, in general, you got a really nice vocal performance and overall style and production!

critique, i would skip that first nasal resonance sounding nightmare and whatever eq or you used to bring forward those frequencies, i understand why you put that there, you liked its "nasty" "spooky" effect, it may work but the frequencies you brought forward are to much and def not working its just makes it impossible to listen to the track loud

so i would skip that sound totally and keep the piano and the "vocal" melody that comes after, they work perfect, no need for more stuff. i would just make that vocal melody a bit shorter and more coherent , simplify it a bit. the melody is wondering a bit to much

    regards

More then agreed about the first part. Ive actually been battling that frequency from the start it sits rite where i need the rest of it.
May just tweak the intro. Its not as abrasive mixed in with the rest of it.
    Spot on feedback tho!

    Most definitely!
I honestly thought it was my microphone, being the warmer between its self and the NT1 A i only imagined what those users deal with.
Really brought my NT1 to its full potential i believe.

A mic and soundcard are just tools mate. A good vocalist can sound good even with the crappiest equipment. It's the performance that counts imho. Personally i like your style and what you are trying to achieve but changing to a better audio interface will NOT teach you better recording/mixing or a new mic technique hehehe. And the same stands for uad plugs, better overall gear etc etc.
For example, this was recorded with an NT1 too and while i'm not a particular fan of trap music, this kinda stands out as it is more rnb-ish with a very good mix/production:

For what it's worth, i do believe you are on a good path. Take care:)
