This is very frustrating not been able to make a living from our music.
So many hours spent on learning several DAWs, instruments, watching tutorials about mixing, arrangement and mastering, Upload your music on soundcloud or youtube for a couple of listerners.
You become an expert in music and I think even more than some pro.
    In return, no money.
After so many years, why is this skill not rewarded, no the good relationships ?
I don't think it is about skill, I can hear every day famous crap artists on radio.

The major problem is: crap sells. Take it easy.

you obviously need more professional acapellas for vocals

jk jk..but why not, try that too

also we need to think a bit like how we could get new listeners.

for example a new vlogger on youtube would maybe use a Country name in their title or something to get some viewers...they would not just name their video as "my vlog"

no idea how this can be utilized with music...but maybe you can title the song My Love "video from Mars" and actually go to Mars and shoot the video

    not even funny

Being famous and a working musician a very different things. One requires very little talent.

Part of the problem is in:
You'll not become an expert doing all of those.
There's expert piano players, singers, guitarists, Mastering Engineers, Mixing engineers, Video Editors etc etc. Behind most successful act/artists is a team of guys. Focus on one thing, and get the best you can buy, beg, collab with for the rest.

    Ok, here is the secret:
There are 2 ways to become successful as a producer/musician
    1. Upload your productions to the relevant platforms and hope that by chance someone will come along who is already successful in the business, who likes your stuff and wants to work with you. To be honest: this way almost never works!
    2. The path that promises more success is: make producing your day job. Set a daily time span for producing. Also, set a fixed amount of time for networking. Join the offensive and write to musicians or other producers who are already on the way up (but still small enough that they might consider working with someone who is completely unknown). Tell them what you like about their music and why you would like to work with them. Tell them how they could benefit from working with you. But be humble. Don't be a dick!
The simple secret is: Be persistent!

The most important rule to be a musician: Don't get frustrated that you aren't famous, or even think something like "Martin Garrix gets laid million times more than me bubuh" music is art, and for real artists the art is more important than getting famous. When you don't understand this you are not an artist. I mean, I feel you but theres no other way .-.

Making money with music doesn't mean being famous. I know a guy who produces and co-produces for some of the biggest names in this industry: Beyonce, Drake, Eminem, etc etc. But he is not famous. Mostly his name isn't even in the credits.

I don't know if you guys here are Spiritual or not.. But I will tell you One Truth-- EVERYTHING IS PRE-DETERMINED !!
Those guys who get famous.. Super famous by doing Nothing and making Trash-- It's because They were born for that !!
No Matter how hard you work.. If it ain't in your Desinty.. Then It won't happen NO MATTER WHAT !! I personally see so many Musicians working so hard dreaming about making it big one day.. Their Streams barely reach some 100-500 views on Youtube.. So They had to look for some other Work to keep up their living
And Ia'm not saying this just by my Own Mind !! Enlightened Spiritual Sages told about this in their Sacred Scriptures ! -- EACH AND EVERY STEP YOU GONNA TAKE IN LIFE.. THEY WERE ALREADY RECORDED WHEN YOUR BODY CAME INTO EXISTENCE --
The Source out of which you have emanated.. CONSCIOUSNESS was Already Present in that Source.. And as Consciousness was already present in that source, Each and every step that Consciousness in a Particular Body will take.. It was already recorded even before your conception !!
    .
So there is No Point in Desiring or Worrying about anything.. Everything will happen as per it's own course.

I don't even want to get famous, but after spending an entire weekend comping and tuning vocals for my epic new masterpiece, it's kinda grueling to know that at best a few hundred people are going to give it any kind of serious listening. I do it for the love of music but god damn I'm starting to hate everything about recording. Some parts are indeed fun, I just wish things were more streamlined and I wouldn't have to spend hours jumping from menu to menu routing samples and channels and sends and effects, and endlessly tweaking supposedly "professional" virtual instruments that sound great in their demos but like shit when you actually use them. /end rant

indeed but it comes with one condition , you get off your arse do the reps and the work , the universe is not here to spoon feed you , and the cool thing is when you get off ya ass you find the reps and the work is the success you wanted all the time anyway , unless of coarse your a sad bastard ........................

These people don't succeed by doing nothing, but because they work hard. Really hard! And because they distribute their priorities accordingly.
I respect it when people believe in providence, but it should not serve as an excuse for self-failure.

when I was a teenage boy I was confused about the big fame of many artists with zero talent and I couldn't find the answer. Then I realized: they do have talent, but not in the field that I believe they had to have
Most artists do not focus careers on artistic output, instead they focus on wisely manipulating their image to create consensus. the aim is to make the artist's own face a commercial logo, this operation is technically called "branding”. Let's forget about the Art, what they sell is a face and not a product: any marketing operation from then on can be traced back to a face / logo.
the popularity generated with this method will be capitalized by selling concerts, shows, gadgets, etc.
Succeeding in this mi$$ion needs talent and is considered by someone a form of art
Is this a very demagogic and dishonest way of interpreting art? Maybe.. but in showbiz (as in politics) demagogy always works

Do you want to be an artist or do you want to be rich and famous? This choice generally leads in two different directions

@ the OP: what is your genre of music? Whatever it is, you've got to be where that music is being played, get yourself into that scene. Make friends with people who are already doing it. Offer to help, to learn the business. If it's dance music, make friends with the DJs, offer to help, eventually they will play something of yours. Show people your passion and determination.
