If you want one channel or to test any part of an Acqua, you use Nebula, as the Acqua is just a multi-Nebula plugin. Nebula allows for loading any single part of any Acqua.

 

Time for a quick thread bump!

Check out the AlexB Vintage Neev 54 Dynamics demo, and just use it as a pass-through plugin to add some color and 3D effect.

Let me know what you think, as I'm not sure if my ears are deceiving me or not

This company is in trouble.

 

I unterstand your point.
They had to reset and move their servers recently, maybe that is the reason. Shouldnt happen though.

And I disagree that they are in trouble. Most of their recent Plugins habe been widely acknowledged.
Support does seem to be a matter of taste....

 

Not correct! It makes a huge difference when harmonics are generated!
For example, if you boost the lowband with a shelvingfilter, then it makes a difference whether the highpassfilter is in front of or behind the shelvingfilter.

• If the HPF is in front of the shelving filter, everything is lowered below the HPF frequency (eg the fundamental), then the lowband is raised by the shelvingfilter and harmonics are generated. The fundamental tone does not exist.
• If the HPF sits behind the shelving filter, then harmonics are generated from the fundamental frequency, the harmonics are raised by the shelvingfilter and the fundamental frequency can finally be lowered by an HPF. The harmonic content of the fundamental frequency is present.

I'd be amongst the first to acknowledge them. I've made a huge investment in Nebula 4. If there's three technologies to must have it's Acustica, UAD and Airwindows. But. There's a cockamamy protection scheme. There's non-existent customer support. There's an ever inflating series of feature indistinguishable Acqua offerings and then you get cockamamy emails coming at you out of the woodwork.

When you've rescued as many IT disasters as I have, you get a second sight for crisis management going through the ever more rapidly ensuing crises that almost always lead up to a terminal cash crunch. I'm not hostile to the company, but there needs to be a serious reboot of the product line and the customer policies. If the asumption is that we are priveledged to be dicked around like clowns because we so lucky to be allowed to use the product, well guys, you can look forward to the insolvency practitioners and the lawyers.

The up front service offering as appaling, the attitudes little better but the plugs are usually industry leading. Time for a reboot. Time for a new CEO.

 

Maybe he already learned this in the last three years. Just sayin'.

 

I only learnt about the AlexB Vintage Neev 54 trick in the last few weeks, and it's a nice freebie that works well on drums, bass and synths (I'm still testing other uses).
