hi. you don't mix or master vocals on its own, you do that in a song context. Antares is the king of autotune if you need it , cla3a is best for guitars and busses, for vocal i recommend the LA2A and the 1176. you want an eq as well , any stock eq will do, 3rd party even better, IK Multimedia, Waves, Slate Digital, UAD -> it's a never ending plugin-hunt :) good luck !

I usually don't recommend iZotope products, but since you *seem* to be a recording/mixing newbie, you might really like iZotope Nectar 2 or even 3. It's got everything for great vocal processing in one plugin, and pretty good presets that usually need just a little bit of adjustment. When I feel lazy, or just don't have enough time to choose and use 3-4 good plugins for that, I just use Nectar 2.

Otherwise, I usually use a plugin chain with an EQ>LA2 emulation [DMG trackcomp, IK Multimedia, Black Rooster, Waves]>De-esser if needed>FX like pitch shifter, chorus, distortion... then send it to reverb and delay sends.

is it mixing OR mastering? it cant be both.

    for vocals
You only need A eq and A compressor

we would need more info to help you out better.

also, i would advice using CLA2A and not cla3 :)

have a look see over here. they dont cost money only timeinvestment needed to be able to use them on your vocals

    allright great.
if you look at "mastering" as "icing on the cake", then you shouldnt worry about that at all.
focus on the mixing of the song, "the cake", the "icing" is at most only adding 10% to the overall.

mixing the humanvoice as as simple as how unique each of us has our owne voice. - meaning there is no "one way of doing it", since we sound different.

if you want to compare your owne mixing of vocals and how "good" they sound, remember to have "a refference track" so you have something real to compare to. (oranges vs. apples=no, apple vs. apple=yes) - meaning pick simuler refference-tracks to the one you are working on, so you can compare them.

Waves, UAD and iZotope here from years. I have an extensive palette of sound and color for all music styles and genres.

those exact 3 companies are what I don't like
Waves because of annoying and unreliable installer central and waveshell plugin system
UAD because of overrated hardware acceleration requirement for no real benefit anymore
iZotope because of poor coding, resulting in excessive cpu load and plugin delay compensation

All Fabfilter plugins, for EQ, compressors, limiters etc etc.. I would say: Forget other similar bundles, go for Fabfilter!

Valhalla DSP, for delays, reverbs etc.

    Check this one:
Slate Digital - Virtual Mix Rack (For as far as I'm aware, these are not that expensive, very handy. And they sound more then okay. I use them all over in combi with Fabfilter)

Don't forget Melodyne! Better then Autotune.. If you ask me.
