My advice, if anyone wants it, is stick with what you have and learn it inside and out.

I confirm win 10 LTSB is excellent, stable and not intrusive, even the antivirus is good without any shit from other versions

everything settles in, and runs smoothly

seven is at the end of the support.

I think those who have machines running Windows 7 and use it for music should be offline, which I do myself

considering the prices of laptops, you might as well have a machine dedicated only to the Internet, right?
Linux is a good alternative too

as for melda, not user of their plugins, they look powerful but not intuitive for two cents, I don't see myself spending two hours finding a function, wasting time, no thanks.

certainly, he's defending his company, not sure denigrating apple will help him.
    even if it's funny.

why have apple compatibility from the beginning?
    strategy, money, maybe both.

    good music to all!!!!!

    greetings from Spain

They seem complicated when you don't know them but in the end they are pretty user friendly and the most important, they sound great.Powerful tools are rarely simple.

I can see a butthurt software developer,
Apple announced end of 32bit support years ago, Mojave 10.14 was already planned to take care of that, but Apple gave users and devs one more entire year to prepare, yet everyone is crying now?
it's business and if anyone doesn't want to develop for MacOS, then they don't have to, similarly as they ignore Linux users just because it's too much work for small amount of paying customers,
Windows 10 is even worse than MacOS, because the major updates fuck everything up unexpectedly, compared to Apple which at least do explicitly announce major version with limited upgrade transition functionality

Haha! That tells me you have no idea what are you talking about. The music industry in London it is a very straight forward business and no studios are going under at all.
I like your spirit, keep it up!

How do I get Windows 10 LTSB legit, is it something that is only for commercial / corporate customers?

Most of Apple pros and cons come from the fact is a closed platform. Way much more than Windows and 100% with the hardware.
In the music production case for instance, roughly 10 years ago they rocked with Logic moping the floor with every other DAW when it came to value/price ratio. These last years are bad.

The professional studio point doesn't apply much because we could say the same about Pro Tools. It's the standard de-facto when it comes to recording and studios don't want surprises so they keep using their old macs and pro tools.
It would be interesting to know what platform use new indie/small studios.

Windows 10 is not as bad as it used to be. Windows 7 was better but since it is getting almost obsolete some newer software don't even support it. Mac is anyways rich people stuff. But here is where Linux gets the opportunity. Its free, runs on PCs not even supported by Win7 and this magic called Wine manages to run .exe and .dll on Linux with almost a single click. Didn't i say its free?
But we need a good synth like Serum or Sylenth1 written "natively" for Linux. That's when performance increases. Just like our cricket team which always wins on home ground, but overseas sometimes bowler bats well than all the batsmen.
It is funny to see such big companies cannot manage their software and a free-maintained-as-a-hobby OS Linux is getting ahead.

Congratulations. Common sense, good opinions, non extremism even while showing your preferences.
I hereby award your post as a "Unicorn post" in these days

Don't forget the drivers. It's better these days but still...
In Linux case, the pros and cons mostly come from the fact that is free. Meaning "no money honey!"

Btw we can make music without melda also. Easy solution: ditch melda. Guranteed results
Cmon its not as difficult to make cinematic music with Sylenth1.

Throw the APPLE out of the WINDOWS.
    - Melda Dev (late 2019)

Same melda dev in 2025 be like F Windose, better use raspberry pi

I genuinely feel pity for those in this thread with low reading comprehension. Very juvenile.

This is you. The fact that you are like this makes me feel no pity for you. You are pretentious of your own volition
