MODO BASS is great. I just love it.

However, bass is not nearly as complex as drums, and we all know that.

I didn't like MODO DRUMS too. Too heavy and it sounds off, not organic or natural.

I'll stick to Addictive Drums. Not perfect, but sounds great in a mix, has a small footprint and is versatile.

Physical modeling is the future, but it's not there yet.

 

Well, the best after Testing it, is the Logoletters. Anyone knows that Font Name ? xD

 

That's a pity, as I thought that thanks to physical modeling there would be more flexibility not only to get good usual drum sounds but to get creative....

 

thats ancient alien ...arabs did learn from them and did their own version but the guys in spain wanted to remember the source code

you can actualy use modo drum like the synth showed in the 80ies or early 90ies movie 'heman'
its dangerous..better use english letters

As a drummer from age 4, it's comforting to read that my "wtf?"-impressions from the demo tracks (that stopped me from DL and testing it) confirmed.

I do still like MODO Bass quite a lot. Maybe because I started playing bass in my teens.

 

If its psychical modeling like they say why is it a 11gb download:? Have they ever addressed this?

 

Let's hope that U-he will continue to develop their physical drums plugin showed on Superbooth 2016. It looked really promising.

I was excited about this modelling technology after Modo Bass so I watched trustworthy reviews just when it came out.
15 min later I was unexcited lol
Everybody agrees:
- Uses a fair amount of samples
- Sounds just ok

 

The thread you are mentioning was started before Modo Drum was actually released whereas I based my "review" on the real deal, and so are most of the comments in this current thread.

 

Superior drummer and Addictive drums certainly have good presets out of the box. There are some kontakt libraries like the ones from drumdrops and Handheld sound that also sound really well straight out.

Aside from it's size, I quite like it. certainly not perfect, and over priced I think, but it's ok. I'm waiting for a better sale on SD3.

 

The Kicks aren't bad, but the Snares are all horrible.
