I heard the file sizes are big different between 44.1khz/16bit and 48khz/24bit. How much different? For example?

For example: a Radio Edit of the usual 3:20 min:
16 bit / 44.1 kHz Uncompressed wave Bit Rate = 1411.2 kbps takes up a
    File Size - Decimal (1kB = 1000 bytes) of:
    35.28 MB

    For Bit Rate: 2304 kbps = 24 bit / 48kHz
    File Size - Decimal (1kB = 1000 bytes):
    57.6 MB (megabytes)

while the same song scanned with a bitrate of 32 bit and 4,3 GHz sample rate (which seems to be the maximum Wave samplerate) would take up
    Bit Rate: 2752000000 kbps
    File Size - Decimal (1kB = 1000 bytes):
    68.8 TB (terabytes)

    Answer: Much difference

    That's simple math:

    44100 x 16 = 705600
    48000 x 24 = 1152000

    1152000 : 705600 ≈ 1,63

Means, a file with 48kHz/24bit is ≈1,63 times bigger than one with 44.1kHz/16bit.

Oops, my bad. What I was curious about is the size of the project file, but not the final processed one.

That depends on the amount of audio files.
If your project contains only MIDI, VSTis and plugins the resolution doesn't really matter. For all wav files the factor is 1,63 (in this example).

Do you mean it depends on the frequency and bit rate of the audio file I use in DAW?

(to myself), you're talking about the project file itself, not the whole project? That's a different thing (than I thought), this depends mainly on the numbers of plugins, tracks, automation, edits and stuff and less on the files' resolution.

you can render a project file that has no wave files, that uses only plugins/vst's to 44.1khz/16bit and to 48khz/24bit and the project file size would be exactly the same, yet the resulting rendered file would be different in size between the 2

The (Microsoft) Word document will be the same size/weight, even if one version has font size 72 and the other has font size 8.

    1:10 increase in size

    example:
    16bit 1mb
    24bit 10mb
