ok so normally (like 99,9%) you shouldnt need to patch as the cracker includes the patched files, and most importantly, the keygen wont work as it's made for windows. but in this case it actually does (to my surprise even), the only thing that was missed in the description is that you need to unlock the file. download batchmod (freeware), run it and drag the file onto the program and unlock it, now try to patch it, should work now.

I've had this problem a couple of times now with R2R keygens not running, not really sure what is causing it yet, only way to fix it is to do a reinstall of the OS from a backup which don't have this problem, or to do a complete pure install of course.
One solution to get the keygen working though, is to exctract the keygen with 7zip and run it from extracted folder. It works then.

 

Reinstalling the OS because you can't get the KG t work? That is totally absurd, even when it works. Are you going to spend your time doing OS reinstalls or making music? With that said, this thread is all over the place. This thread was originally a Windows issue thread then a couple of Mac guys jumped in. Now, others are saying they have problems without specifying the OS or the Spectrasonics product they are trying to use.

 

Well, a keygen not working is a sign that there is a problem and if you don't know the cause, you've to choose from the options you have. It takes about 30 minutes to do a reinstall from a working backup, enough time to take a shit and a shower.
You could also mess up otherwise a working system by using various tools with the registry and permissions trying to fix the issue.

 

The cause is simple. The only problem that 2048 has in Windows is either that the AV has locked it or that the user does not know what he or she is doing. If you don't have the AV on, it all comes down to permissions. I have done over 300 installs of Spectrasonics products and NEVER found 2048 I could not make run.

 

Sorry for not being clear enough, I'm talking about specifically for each and everyone of R2Rs keygens not working on Windows 10. Nothing to do with AV, permissions have been cleared, doesn't work on a sandbox etc. Only using another account or as I said earlier, extracting the keygen with 7zip makes them work. Did I forget to mention, other than R2R keygens work still fine. It's a puzzle I've been pondering on once in a while. Perhaps on of these days I'll find an answer, is it some program or setting that I've changed that makes them not work.

Seriously, how many times have you dealt with a 2048 and those problems? How can you say that it has nothing to do with permissions? I deal with them everyday. Just today, three times for 3 different members and I have been on and off. Permisssion does have all to do with it. You even go as far as saying, try another acccount. Unfortunately, the problem is that unfortunately the majority of people do NOT know how to change permissions properly. Every day I see 3, 4, 5 people with permission issues. They tell me that they have done it right but that is never the case. Moreover, people think that they are on an Administrator account when in fact they are not. I don't like to turn a thread into a pissing contest but if you come here telling members that the only way to fix issues with a 2048 is to reinstall their OS, I will contradict you based on my dealings with it. Furthermore, what you said about the 2048 and 7Zip holds no water. For example, on my Spectrasonics releases, I compressed the 2048 with WinRar so there is NOTHING special that 7Zip will do for those who downloaded it. Nothing at all.

Perhaps there's a misunderstanding here, I'm talking about extracting what's inside the keygen.exe with the 7zip, as you are such an expert you might know that WinRAR doesen't do that, it won't regognize what's inside the container. When you run the extracted keygen, it works. Look at the pic, that is what 7zip extracts to a temp-folder. By the way, this is what's inside R2Rs keygen for Reaper.
