Hello, I recently just purchased Omnisphere, and I am just blown away by its versatility and the sheer amount of presets there are. What are some of your guy’s go to presets that are included in the default Omnisphere library(including the hardware library), and why?

    i.e. Pads, Leads, Fx etc.

Are there any stellar 3rd party banks you would recommend?

    the unfinished , luftrum, plughugger..

the plugin guru banks, but if you like to tweak and design your own sounds, you should definitely check out his
sound design courses and the other courses available on the sister site, because knowledge is power.

I personally prefer to avoid any time-consuming steps between my creative impulse and the result during the process
, so I like to have as much choice as possible

but there's a lot of great functionalities in omnisphere that you should learn which will help speed up to achieve your goals sound wise.
I've noticed the same thing with some orhcestral soundbanks like spitfire audio, for example, that worth spending some time knowing
which I'm sure a lot of basic users don't but are really helpful

the guy from airwaves does great patches too

omnisphere comes with so much great presets that it's nearly enough by itself

avoid the cheap trap oriented banks that nearly destroy the beauty of what can be achieved with this great synth ( but that's just my opinion )

A must have is the Bob Moog Tribute, and a bank called Celtic Atmospheres. Another good one is The Lobby Piano from Man make Noise.

    Hi Mixtic

it depends on your sound sensitivity and inspiration, as mentioned above, the best quality come from :

    Pluginguru,
    The Unfinished,
    Luftrum,
    Plughugger,
    Arte Nuovo,
    Ilio,
    Sonic Underworld,
    SoundsDivine,
    Audiority,
    StringAudio,
    Triple Audio Sound,
    CL-Projects,
    Gahrn Audio,
    Ikarus,
    Zenhizer,
    Tom Wolfe,
    PulseSetter Sounds,
    Sami Younes,
    Sound Dust,
    SubsonicArtz,
    That Worship Sound,
    MIDIssonance,
    Soundethers,
    Multperi,
    Pennysound,
    Snow Audio,
    Peter James ...

There are others, but in my opinion, the most interesting today.:guru:
As you can see, the choice is not lacking although the Omnisphere library already has an "encyclopedia" of banks.

You may want to grab the latest release of omni from the sister site , I do understand that you are a legit owner BUT that release has most of the good patches/presets that are around and it's a simple copy\paste when it comes to the Steam Folder, That alone will give you years of patches and sound sources to work with There is even a torrent link for it :like:

Thanks for the recommend, but what would this release have that I wouldn’t already have? Does it come with releases that are 3rd party?

One of my favorites is Sound Dust Untopia, inspired by the tv serie Utopia, and by the music by Joy Division and others strange intimate and twisted sounds.

Your list is correct, but I would add VintageSynthPads (they have a dozen packs of presets for Omnisphere and although they all sound very similar, they sound good) and I would remove Multperi and Pennysound. From the first I have not found any information

Recent stuff I'd recd is The Unfinished's Amara, which is available to try on the sister site. Although (like most Omni libs =) just a bunch of pads, it's a really nice bunch of pads! Lot of good stuff generally by The Unfinished and Pluginguru.

As far as knowing what is "good stuff"? If you don't mind using my ratings (I've rated / used most patches) you can overwrite the default, unrated index files with mine; in your Omni Steam folder. Available here to dl. Make sure you backup / rename the original files!
Original files are: \STEAM\Omnisphere\Settings Library\User Tags\prt_omn.index (default Omni patches)
    \STEAM\Omnisphere\Settings Library\Patches\User\prt_omn.index (3rd party / user libs)

Just rename your originals to prt_omn.bak or smthn? Extract, then refresh in Omni...

i respectfully disagree with you. Too many fillers and variations on VSP banks. Not bad per se but definitely not worth the money in comparison with all there is on the market today. Waste of money IMHO. Save your hard earned bucks for The Unfinished, SOnic Underworld etc. Two steps ahead of the competition. and BTW Pennysound has a great dedicated bank for Acid Trance so i disagree with you on that one too.

No problem disagreeing. If I wanted to always be right I would go to a cave to listen to my own echo.
I find it hard to express myself in English, so my opinions may seem unbounded. About VintageSynthPads I want to say that their style is always the same, ambient and relaxing pads and "psychedelic" leads for calling them somehow. I think they sound pretty good. In fact, I am thinking of buying them something, although I agree with the general opinion: the best are The Unifinished, Triple Spiral Audio, Plughugger, Hollo, Pluginguru (the most versatile and daring without a doubt), although for daring Man Makes Noise.
In fact, I am willing to spend about 200 euros on good presets, but few things remain that have not been published on the sister site. Midissonance has interesting things, although maybe I find it a bit "bland" sometimes. Touch the Universe also has a couple of interesting packs.
Of course, I don't forget The Unfinished GAIKAIJU, but I'm waiting to see if it appears on the sister site.
By the way, I will soon share Omnisphere stuff on the sister site. We must receive and give both.
    Any suggestion is welcome.

Sorry famouslut but I don't understand why there may be disagreement ?!
This is a site page that makes or tries to make an inventory of all the banks available for omnisphere.
