Laptop keeps freezing every few seconds for a quarter of a second.

    I have just gotten a new to me lenovo laptop and it keeps freezing. I am downloading some updates and i think that might be the problem but not sure. iphone klingeltone
    Also my disk usage is at 100% despite there being nothing running at times.

    We'd need more data: Windows version, what sound and especially graphic card and their driver version.

    But... if your laptop has an nVidia graphic card it could be the same that happened to me. A recent Windows update that messes up with some nVidia cards. Mostly old ones like mine (550Ti, drivers v391.35) but you never know.

    Disconnect all devices hooked up. ext.drives, usb-hub, interface etc. Better?

    Not Better? -> Boot in safe mode. Might want to scan the disk for errors.

    As Xupito said...More info.

    new/used/refurbished?
    consumer/business/workstation?
    model/ram/video/hdd/ssd?
    running as it came/recommended tweaks for audio production?
    all drivers up to date?
    using separate profile for audio work if it is your only computer?
    DAW used?

    Also, with an audio only profile, your wireless service should be stopped under services if not needed.

    Detailed info could yield detailed solutions.
