While I'm looking forward to these, it's kinda frustrating the way Behringer are raising expectations too early, then customers get frustrated waiting and turn off to something else. They've done the same with the Crave, which was unveiled last January and touted for a spring release, yet it's still not here.

On a related note, what do the Roland boutique TR-8 and TR-9 sound like? I'd imagine their prices may come down a bit after the Behringer RD-8 and RD-9 get released.

Rush? How about not making customers wait months for their orders. Uri came out and said that the time frame was 6-8 weeks from the end of May. That called for a September availability. It is the middle of October, and every week we get another story, another delay, some more bs from Uri. Anyway you look at it, it is bad for business. Retailers like Sweetwater are not even taking your money up front with their orders. BTW, I don want one. I ordered 2 so I can mod the shit out of the second one.

Conversely, Behringer can learn a couple of things from Roland, too. One of them, being on schedule whenever you announce a product's release.

Behringer never has made any limited edition of anything. After a while, you will find them for $200-250 on Craiglist.

Judge for yourself if the difference is worth it. I bet if you route those machines in to a few analog overdrive pedals no one could really tell the difference. Who uses the 808 dry anyway?

And if you think behringer is not shipping at this moment, you gotta check your feed cause they are shipping k2, crave, and pro-1.

Bro, we are talking here RD-8. I already posted on the other thread about the Carave and Pro 1. But just to clarify, they sent just 1000 units of those synths to their UK distributor, that's it. It is not like they have available units for everyone.https://audiosex.pro/threads/behringer-begins-production-of-pro-1-and-crave-synths.50061/

Here in the US, the containers may not even make it out of US Customs.

WTF racism has to do here? I don't even know why you mentioned that. I have given Behringer more love than almost everyone here but facts are facts. I ordered two of these RD-8, over 2 months ago. Last week they told me November 1st. Now, they are talking about a December shipment. I can cut Behringer some slack due to the legal problems with Roland, however, this is not an isolated problem. They did the same with Crave and Pro-1. I worked for Roland R & D for years and don't recall one of the products missing the scheduled released date.

940€ is a tiny bit more expensive than Behringer's price.

Well thats kinda odd if you pre ordered 2 months ago, but you still didnt get it, where did you order? Hopefull not in the US then. I'm not saying where you should order this, because I assume you already know this. In mean in my country it isnt sold either, but I still got the first batch of MS101 when it came out.

I get why they did not .. But making this machine available to take external samples would have been incredible.
I still love using stuff like Geist cause Im a OG Propellerhead Redrum user so programing drum patterns always been more comfortable.

I know it has fully midi but at that price point I guess I want to be able to load it my self.
ill still buy one tho.. cause ..well cause im here.

Bro, you keep going back to other products. We are talking about problems with the RD-8 here and using the Crave and Pro-1 to support what we are saying. There certainly are Behringer products you can buy of the shelves including its best synth, the DeepMind 12. As i explained, there were legal problems with RD-08 which seem to be sorted out. Youhave been participating on this thread for a while so it surprises me to have you here as if you don't know what is going on. I ordered mine from 2 different places one in US and another abroad. In one of them it was done even when "officially" no orders were being taken. If you didn't know Behringer was making "special" deliveries of those units. I wanted them from different batches. No sense in getting a new unproven product from same manufacturing batch. The same problem in Europe. Look at https://redappleaudio.co.uk/products/behringer-rd-808 they had to change the delivery date.

I am not the only one in the same situation. Go to Behringer's Tweeter or Facebook pages so you can read what is happening. It is a fucking mess. More so if you read below.

Behringer back to being Behringer. Some of the RD-8s that have been delivered are being sent back with problems.

What is happening is that Behringer is making the leap in quality: as a B series producer, it is now entering the Champions League. Probably some details are to be fixed: logistics, communication, quality control ... to be among the top producers and stay there. In any case I love Behringer's mission: make outboard gear accessible to everyone.

    Democratization of technology
Probably the same choice that made Roland famous in the 80s ...
