I think a lot of this comes from whats popular in Japan, and Korg has been all over this tiny craze as well with the whole volca series which has been a success.

If this has caused a postpone of the release, roland is really desperate in my opinion. I haven't really dug in to the subject, but going to court for a patent which is long over due is just pathetic. Now they make some claims on some colors, buttons what ever which sounds just sheer ridiculous. Roland should have done it right from the moment they start releasing their cult drum machines/synthesizers and not 3 iterations of a tr-8, tr-08 , tr8s ACB crap.

Yeah I just seen this maybe 2 weeks ago for the first time and just fell in love.
Been just relentlessly searching Tweets and emailing people to find out when it was coming. Really REALLY happy to hear that it is not scraped because I think they did a spot on job of making the interface. Minor changes of course but it really looks like the caputred the feel.

I think i heard rumor of a 707 or it probably was a 909 being made too?
I want them all. Pokemon these damn machines!

 

Last Friday, I talked to the national distributor for Behringer in California. As of last Friday, there was no RD-08 in its warehouse. If it is not there, it can't be distributed to the stores. I couldn't get any further info. The time frame was 6-8 weeks from the end of May so we are getting very close. They are coming by way of cargo ship from China. It usually takes about 30 days plus another 4-7 days for the shipment to be released.

No more crying. Time to buy it.

 

I really hope Behringer made a good emulation of the 808, because the drum machine is quite boring and limiting if they didnt nail the sound. No midi cc as wel.

Hopefully when I have it will put a smile on my face when I overload the 808 kic. If this is not the case, which i'm afraid of after having owned their replica of the 101, you could just buy a better, more advanced drum machine instead imo.

 

@alex921 Anyway you look at it, it is a bargain. If people were making music with bad samples packs, they certainly can make music with this 808 clone. Analog Drum machines at this price are a rarity. Seriously, what other analog Drum Machine can you get for $349 that is comparable to this RD-08? The Arturia?

I have been watching waiting so long. I think the computer hardware generation is coming We will always need our computers but i agree with another post in that a true analog piece of gear can never be replaced.
I cant wait to lay like my sound toys over this RD-8 ...IM FUGGING STRAIGHT GIDDY!!!

For the 100th time I have to update the shipping date for this product. Even when things are going great for Behringer they find a way to lose customers. Last Saturday, the shipping for the RD-08 was set to be Novenber 1st. Now they have set a new date of December 9, 2019. This has become a fucking joke.

 

They probably didn't expect such a number or pre-orders. My guess is, it's already sold out before release and they are trying to push the factory for more Rds.

 

I don't see what the rush is, we will all get one eventually but its just that everyone wants one. Roland could learn a thing or two.

Absolutely. And while Behringer has been criticized by all kinds of synth lovers as producing cheap clones (myself included), Uli Behringer's approach - at least to me- is the most genuine and engaging i have ever seen in a company's CEO, especially when you consider the company's strength in numbers. Kudos to Uli.

Err... Not bad at all but @ 940 euros i'll skip. Thnx for showing though.
