Getting a new refurbished laptop and have a lot of cracked software. Is PC just as stable as Mac or is one better than the other?

The stability of the PC isn't affected by cracking the software. Just install the latest Win 10.
You can buy a power horse PC for the same price you pay for a less powerful Mac.
PC is just much better in every case.

Old PC vs Mac benchmark but still relevant:

Mac vs PC is a moot point nowadays. Do you like using MacOS or do you like using Windows? Do you like your desktop on the left or on the right? Thats what you should be asking. Its a personal preference the playing field has been leveled and if nothing else, is more in Microsofts favor especially now. Are you aware of what's even going on with MacOS right now?

You said you've already got all your cracked software. So what OS is all that software for? I think that would be driving my decision for the most part. Im not gonna buy a PC and hope all my Mac software Ive got runs on it or vice versa..

Mac users logic: no charts, no benchmark, no comparison. Apple is God.

I use both OS. Strictly speaking in terms of cracked software, it's generally more readily available for PC. That said, the options for OSX is not THAT far behind.

There are a few fundamendal values to think about, in the ever so old macos vs win. Windows, even with the resource hog that is Win10, is more open ended allowing for a multitude of tweaks and hardware builds. On the other hand, macOS is a carefully designed ecosystem with much less peripherals/components to choose from, which means less compatibility but also less conflicting components, hence a more stable system overall. When it comes to music production from a pure professional standpoint, macOS is leading the race with its CoreAudio engine. In words that everybody can understand, comparing the two OS's on an identical machine you will find that when both OS's use all their resources under extreme system stress and playing video and audio at the same time, macOS will struggle to produce sound correctly whereas Windows will struggle to play the video correctly. In other words, macOS for audio is slightly superior to Windows simply by its internal system architecture. This though, is something that few users will notice, as very few push their computer systems to their actual limits. And again, whatever the Windows limitations may be, smart system builders will simply overcome it by building better, faster than retail Mac pcs. Also for extreme users, Windows open ended architecture gives 'em the ability to build beastly server/workstation machines with a ton of horsepower costing tens or even hundreds of thousands. The sky is the limit here. I personally have tried the latest Windows Server 2019 and music soft & audio drivers all worked properly. Just for comparison, WinServer 2019 standard supports up to 24tb ram, which is more volatile storage than most users have as permanent storage on their hdds/ssds. Apple is now trying to get there with their newely announced mac pro but as i said in another thread their cpu/chipset choice makes the -unreleased yet- new mac pro (up to 18 core Xeon/1.5 tb ram) old news really. The only thing that really stands out from their new products, is their new masterpiece monitor which again is only meant to be used by visual/video/graphic artists/pros. (Because 32" @ 5k res means ~267 ppi and simply you can't read a damn thing under the display's physical resolution, so it's useless for desktop productivity purposes, unless of course you are willing to dish out 5k dlrs to have the best res wallpapers with HDR lol). And finally and most important imho, if the software you are planning to use is all in the "try before buy" category, Windows has more options and faster released, although as said earlier in this thread macOS is not so far behind.
    Cheers :)
PS:I 've been criticized by some "user" lately that i am a mac fanboy hahaha. Just know that i have 8 Windows pcs and my 2 main workhorses in the studio are pcs based on Win7 and Win10 builds. I do have a hackintosh machine that i keep for compatibility reasons when clients bring me Logic projects etc. , and a retail older Mac and that's it. One definitive thing about me is i hate all Oses equally so calling me a fanboy or whatever is just irrelevant.

I'm going to cheat and use a couple of Taskforce's comments to showcase why I have always stuck with PCs even after A/B-ing them:
Love the multitudes and I use Win7Ult., so no garbage Win10 crap to deal with.
Which I am more than happy to roll up my sleeves and do.

That being said, I don't like being told that I can't wander off the reservation, so I naturally am not a fan of MAC's very This-is-how-we-want-it-and-this-is-how-it-stays setup; I can root through Windows and kick 1s & 0s to Hell and back with out getting reprimanded.
All that being said, my audio PC is Win7Ult.x64, but my browsing laptop is Win10 (I can't change it out without GBH,) but it's kind of nice because it reminds me how smooth Win 7 was/is; Win10 is a gluttonous creature that resembles more of the MAC style, Hands-Off parameters.
As per cracked, I have friends who are on both sides of the debate and no one has ever won an arguement by shouting "Well mine runs cracked releases better!!" probably because there really isn't a difference, though sometimes a release may be easier to *install, setup, or troubleshoot on one or the other.
    Just my 2 cents...

Just build a win computer just look at some pro built sites and buy the same components they use.
I used o search for cheapest price but nowadays i buy everything in the same local store as its easyer if something is broken
Install win 7 stay offline avoid crappy win 10 and your good to go.
As for crack there is a million more to choose from than if you choose OSX.

MAC is a bit more serious ('professional'), a bit more hardware advanced, and more durable (but how much of an advantage is it really, while hardware gets obsolete within a couple of years?)
I don't know how much all of those advantages on MAC's side actually affect stability (how one does measure that? and how do you define it?)
Since PC is quite near to MAC, has 10 x more software on the market, and is considerably cheaper, I opted for PC.

The difference in stability is not noticeable for me, with both OS's getting occassion crashes with certain plugins at times.

A systems' stability should be looked at after 1 or more years of usage & updates.
How much time did maintenance take, how many problems you had to fix, doing what?

I use both OS-es, in usage I prefer MacOS, in stability I guess they both have their quirks.

It is a 6K screen with a physical resolution of 6016 by 3384 pixels. It would make sense to use this in HiDPI mode
@ 200% you still get a massive resolution: 3008 x 1692 and that ill be ultra sharp.

@Moonlight Absolutely right 'bout the res, my bad there and thnx for the correction. Don't you think though if anyone wanted a 4k monitor (half the Apple's 6k) you 'd buy something less expensive? I mean EIZO makes a top of the line 32" 4k monitor for almost half the money. And even @ 32" 4k is still hard to read. The best size for a 4k should be the 43" imho.
