I'm new to the forum (and I don't speak English very well), please if anyone can help me
Yesterday I installed ableton live 10 with key gen r2r. I disconnected antivirus, installed the cure and everything worked perfectly.
This morning I turned on the PC, started the program and was surprised! the cure doesn't work anymore, ableton tells me to record again!
I tried to create a new file with the key gen but it doesn't work anymore.
what can I do?

Did you turn off "check for updates" in Ableton's preferences? Did you block Ableton from internet access via Little Snitch, Hands Off, your firewall, hosts files etc? All these things should be done. In general, I recommend if you are going to be testing this software in such a fashion, you keep your machine off the internet, use another partition, or absolutely just turn off your wifi or unplug your hard line while using.

 

...having said that, i understand it doesn't answer your question... I am not sure the fix here, as I haven't had that happen, but I imagine you are going to have to do a complete uninstall of the software, and hopefully that will work successfully to remove all traces... It's also a good idea to clone your drive and do the incremental backup of it before installing a large piece of software like a DAW etc, so if something goes awry, you can "roll back". I do that often as a protective measure.

'Testing' software is a bonus, but it comes with a price of diligence.

Before I used ableton 9 always without connected wifi, just to avoid this. But this time I installed ableton 10 with an active internet connection and everything worked, so I didn't think there were any problems !! Now I have uninstalled the program, every track also in the registry keys and I'm reinstalling. I hope I can use it again

it works! I reinstalled used the patch and it works! this time I will always use it without wifii connected, so there are no dangers. since I'm new to the forum, I ask you, where can I find vst releases? with patch? thank you all for your assistance!

 

yep, must turn off auto updates, happened me once , thinking yay i have the latest greatest, nope it wont work.

 

yup reinstall the downloaded version and then the cure will work again, it doesnt work nog because it updated, dont worry it happens to everybody at least once. not sure if the blocking in firewall is really needed but better safe then sorry

edit: nvm i'm late to the party, as usual, this happens quite often, even IRL, arrived at parties at 2am several times, but this is completely irrelevant
